Spring 2021: Played and started in all seven games… recorded 44 tackles along with a team-high 7.5 tackles for loss… added a sack, team-high three interceptions, one pass breakup, four passes defensed and three quarterback hurries… opened the season with season-high eight tackles, a TFL, fumble recovery and a pair of QB hurries against Gardner-Webb… added seven tackles and tackle for loss against Morehead State… after six stops at Davidson and four to go along with an interception against San Diego, Smyth recorded seven tackles and two pick-sixes in the Blue Hose victory over Stetson… he netted PFL Defensive Player of the Week honors and National Player of the Week honors for the performance… totaled 4+ tackles in all seven games… one of three Blue Hose to record at least two interceptions…

2019: Played in all 12 games while getting the start in six contests… recorded 63 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, one interception and three pass breakups… finished fourth amongst Blue Hose defensive players with 63 total tackles…  finished second amongst freshman defensive backs in the Big South in tackles… had three games with 10+ tackles on the year… had five tackles against North Alabama… recorded three tackles and a tackle for loss against Monmouth… had 11 tackles and a tackle for loss against Kennesaw State… had 10 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a quarterback hurry and a pair of pass breakups against Merrimack… had 13 tackles, 1.0 tackle for loss and his first career interception against Gardner-Webb and earned Big South Freshman of the Week honors…

BEFORE PC: Was four year letterwinner in football and baseball at Beaufort High School… played both quarterback and defensive back for the football team… was catcher and centerfielder for the baseball team… member of national honor society…
