Public Piano Project

Project Description

Established in 2014, the City Sounds Public Piano Project continues to provide access to public pianos within the Greater Des Moines area. We commission local artists to transform donated pianos into captivating works of art, which are then placed throughout our communities, providing interactive gathering spaces for music, friendship and collaboration. The duration of this project runs from May - October. Thank you for considering our project. All project funding will be allocated towards the following expenses: innovative programming both on location and in-house at Mainframe Studios; piano transportation, installation, maintenance, licensing and insurance; artist stipends; storage and studio space; marketing and signage; operational expenses.
