2020-21 Season Highlights:

• One of only two Bulldogs to start all 26 games.
• On the season, averaged 8.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 28.4 minutes per game.
• Connected on a team-high 46 3-pointers, converting at least one attempt from behind the arc in 21 of 26 games.
• Produced 11 double-figure scoring performances in 26 games…after recording 14 in 89 outings in three seasons at Virginia Tech.
• A consistent double-digit scorer in non-conference action, putting up between 10-13 points in five of seven outings.
• Exploded for a career-high 21 points vs. Mississippi State, which also produced career-bests for both field goals (seven) and 3-pointers (five).
• Wrapped up non-conference play against Northeastern and opened league action versus Mississippi State, LSU and Arkansas with four consecutive double-figure performances. Averaged 13.3 ppg over that quartet of contests.
• Made game-winning layup with 1.3 seconds left against Kentucky, snapping Georgia’s 14-game losing streak to the Wildcats that dated back to 2013.
• Started the Vanderbilt game red hot on the offensive end, scoring 11 of his eventual 14 points in first 10:36 of that contest.

Virginia Tech Career Highlights:
• Played in 89 outings in three seasons with the Hokies, with 35 career starts – one as a freshman, four as a sophomore and 30 as a junior.
• Tallied 467 points (5.2 ppg) and 265 rebounds (3.0 rpg) in 1601 minutes (18.0 mpg) while at Tech.
• Notched 14 total double-figure scoring outputs, with eight of those coming in the 2019-20 campaign.
• Helped Virginia Tech reach consecutive NCAA Tournaments in 2018 and 2019, including reaching the “Sweet 16” as a sophomore.
• Posted career-high efforts of 18 points (at Pitt on Feb. 15, 2020) and seven rebounds (four times).

2019-20 Season Highlights:
• Started 30 of 32 games, the second-highest number of nods for any player on the Hokies’ roster.
• Averaged 7.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
• Entered the season with a career high of 30 minutes (and that actually was rounded up from logging 29:33 against Maryland-Eastern Shore) but notched 30-plus minutes 15 times as a junior.
• Led the Hokies offensively in four games, in rebounds in three contests in blocks a team-high 12 outings and in steals five times.
• Increased his overall production by eye-catching numbers, upping his averages for scoring (+4.3 ppg), rebounding (+2.0 rpg) and minutes (+15.0 mpg). In addition, improved his totals tallies for blocks (+13), steals (+18) and 3-pointers (+44).
• Remarkably, went from making a single 3-pointer (on 12 attempts) as a sophomore to connecting on 44 (at a 34.9 percent percentage) as a junior.
• After making just one 3-pointer as a sophomore, opened the season with a nine-game streak with at least one make from behind the arc (which tallied 17 total 3-pointers made).
• After making just three 3-pointers in his first two seasons with the Hokies, knocked down three 3-pointers three times in the first nine games of 2019-20 – versus Coppin State, BYU and Duke.
• Was on the same side of the bracket as Georgia for the Maui Jim Maui Invitational but did not face the Bulldogs after Tech upset No. 3 Michigan State in the Hokies’ first-round matchup.
• Posted his first double-figure scoring output in ACC action with 15 points against Duke on Dec. 6.
• Logged a career-most 42 minutes of action in a 79-77, double-overtime win over North Carolina on Jan. 22.
• Knocked down a pair of free throws with 13 seconds left in regulation to help extend the contest against the Tar Heels.
• Extremely efficient en route to his career-high 18 points versus Pittsburgh on Feb. 15, connecting on 6-of-9 shots from the field including 4-of-6 3-pointers.
• Collected five steals in a victory over Clemson on March 4, the highest single-game theft tally by any Virginia Tech player during the season.
• Paced the Hokies offensively in the final two regular-season games, putting up 17 points at Clemson and following that with 14 at Notre Dame on March 7.

2018-19 Season Highlights:
• Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll, which recognizes student-athletes who registered a 3.0 grade point average or higher for the full academic year.
• Logged action in 29 games, including a quartet of starts, and averaged 3.3 points and 2.2 rebounds in 13.3 minutes of action per game.
• Converted on a team-best 57.5 percent of his field goals, connecting on 42-of-73 shots from the floor.
• Helped the Hokies reach the “Sweet 16” round of the NCAA Tournament and finish with a 26-9 record.
• Tech posted a 4-0 record in his four games started against Central Connecticut State, VMI, Maryland-Eastern Shore and Wake Forest.
• Missed six games – a span from Jan. 21 at North Carolina through Feb. 9 at Clemson – due to an undisclosed injury.

2017-18 Season Highlights:
• Played in 28 games, with one start, and contributed 4.6 points and 2.4 boards per game while logging an average of 11.7 minutes per outing.
• Helped the Hokies to a 21-12 record which culminated with an NCAA Tournament bid, where they lost to Alabama.
• Opened his collegiate career with a 10-point performance against Detroit Mercy on Nov. 10.
• Notched a career-high 16 points versus Iowa on Nov. 28, his seventh outing with the Hokies. That effort stood until the 25th game of his junior season – a span of 74 outings.
• Knocked down 6-of-7 shots from the floor and 4-of-6 trips to the line against the Hawkeyes.
• Hauled down a career-high seven rebounds against Miami on Feb. 3, a tally that stood as his best effort as a Hokie . . . although he did match that effort three times as a junior.
• Logged action against two SEC opponents – four points and two rebounds in 11 minutes against Ole Miss on Dec. 2 and five points and four boards in 20 MP versus Alabama in “March Madness.” Registered a DNP against Kentucky on Dec. 16.

High School Highlights:
• Coached by Eric Holland at Tift County High School.
• As a four-year starter, helped the Blue Devils compile a combined 110-10 record during his four seasons, including a pair of state championships in as a freshman (Class 6A in 2014) and a senior (Class 7A in 2017).
• All told, scored 1,671 points, grabbed 811 rebounds and blocked 203 shots at Tift County, doing so despite missing most of his junior season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
• In 102 games played for the Blue Devils, notched 82 double-figure scoring outputs with 36 20-point performances, five 30-point outings and a career-high 40 points against Lake Minneola (Fla.) in the Florida-Georgia Challenge at Montverde on Nov. 26, 2016.
• As a senior, averaged 25.3 points and 11.0 rebounds per game while leading the Blue Devils to a 29-2 finish.
• Named first-team all-state by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as a senior.
• Selected as the Most Valuable Player of the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA) 2017 All-Star game after scoring 28 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
• Was averaging 17.4 ppg as a junior when he suffered the torn ACL in a Dec. 2015 outing against North Mecklenburg (N.C.) High in the Arby’s Classic in Bristol, Tenn.

Personal:
• Born July 26, 1999, P.J. is the son of Preston and Tanya Horne.
• Earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Virginia Tech and is pursuing a master’s in Nonprofit Management & Leadership at UGA.
• Recipient of the Joel & Wealthy Eaves Men’s Basketball Scholarship for 2020-21 and the Vincent J. & Barbara Dooley Scholarship for 2021-22.
