• Of note, his first name is pronounced “Sah-veer” . . . think of a doctor asking you to "open wide and say 'aaaahhhh'."

2020-21 Season Highlights:
• Named second-team All-SEC in balloting of both league coaches and the AP.
• One of two Bulldogs to start every game – along with P.J. Horne – and led Georgia in scoring (14.0 ppg), assists (7.4 apg) and steals (1.7 spg).
• Broke Georgia’s single-season assist record with 193 passes-to-points, easily topping the previous mark of 169 by Pertha Robinson in 1995.
• Notched three of the top-6 single game assist tallies in school history, co-No. 3s (13 dishes versus both LSU in Athens and vs. Missouri in the SEC Tournament) and No. 6 (12 against Florida A&M).
• Produced a team-high 22 double-figure scoring outputs.
• Scored slightly better in SEC play (14.1 ppg) than overall (14.0 ppg).
• Recorded eight double-digit assist tallies and one double-figure board count.
• Within the SEC, led the league in both assists (7.4 apg) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.68), while tying for tops in double-doubles (eight). Also ranked No. 3 in playing time (34.4 mpg), No. 5 in steals (1.7 spp) and No. 15 in scoring (14.0 ppg).
• Became just the fourth player in the 2000s to lead the SEC in assists and assist-to-turnover ratio.
• Posted eight point-assist double-doubles, the most by any SEC player in a single-season in the 2000s.
• Began the season with a trio of point-assist double-doubles against Florida A&M, North Georgia and Jacksonville. Believed to be the first SEC player to have three consecutive point-assist double-doubles since Chuck Evans of Miss. State in 1993.
• Distributed 12 assists against Florida A&M, the most by a Bulldog in more than two decades…since G.G. Smith had a dozen vs. Vanderbilt in 1999.
• Produced Georgia’s highest single-game scoring output by any player in 2020-21 with 27 points at Florida.
• Recorded the first triple-double in 116 seasons of Georgia Basketball against LSU in Athens, scoring 14 points, dishing out 13 assists and grabbing 11 rebounds.
• Broke UGA’s single-season assist record during the South Carolina game in Athens, the 24th game of the season.
• Distributed an SEC Tourney-record 13 assists against Missouri.

2019-20 Season Highlights:
• Logged playing time in 31 of 32 contests, missing a Jan. 28 date at Missouri after suffering an upper-body injury in practice the day before the game.
• Moved into the Bulldogs’ starting five at Auburn on Jan. 11 and remained there for all 17 games he played in thereafter.
• Broke Georgia’s freshman assist record by distributing 139 passes-to-points, topping the old mark of 133 established by Litterial Green in 1989.
• Finished third on the team in both scoring (9.0 ppg) and playing time (27.3 mpg).
• Notched 11 double-digit scoring outputs, also the third-most of any Bulldog.
• Led or tied for the team-high tally in assists for 24 of 31 games played, the highest number of instances by any Bulldog.
• Finished the season ranked No. 87 nationally in assists per game (4.5 apg), sixth-best effort among all D-I freshmen.
• Among SEC leaders, finished the season ranked No. 4 in assists (4.5 apg) and No. 6 in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.53).
• Distributed Georgia’s single-game 2019-20 high for assists – eight – four times – against The Citadel, SMU, Alabama and Ole Miss in the SEC Tournament.
• Consistently improved at the line during the season...after shooting just 57.7 percent in non-conference games converted 73.6 percent in league action.
• Scored 19 points in the season opener against Western Carolina, equaling the third-most ever by a UGA freshman in their debut, trailing only Dominique Wilkins (26) and Anthony Edwards (24) and tying Terry Fair (19 in 1979).
• Came up huge with a couple of layups at the end of both overtime periods versus SMU. Scored with four seconds left in the first extra period to tie the score and extend the game. Split two defenders and scored with 1.9 seconds remaining in second OT to secure the victory.
• Named SEC Freshman of the Week on Dec. 23 for his effort against SMU.
• Missed the Missouri game due to upper body injury suffered in practice the day the team traveled to Columbia.
• Returned to the starting lineup in the next outing against Texas A&M. In first three games following the DNP, averaged 16.3 ppg, 5.7 apg and 36.7 mpg.
• Exploded for a season-high 24 points in a season-most 42 minutes of action in an overtime setback to Alabama.
• Delivered the top play in SportsCenter’s Top-10 on March 11, a half-court, buzzer-beater to end the first half against Ole Miss in the SEC Tournament.
• With the cancellation of the college basketball season the next day, Wheeler’s half-court shot versus the Rebels was the final No. 1 play on ESPN for the 2019-20 season.

High School Highlights:
• Coached by Ron Crandall at Houston Christian High.
• Selected as a co-MVP of the 2019 Big Baller Brand All-America game, where he posted 34 points and eight assists.
• Tabbed a four-star recruit with ESPN listing him as the No. 78 overall prospect nationally, while rivals.com had him at No. 88 and the 247Sports.com composite ranked him No. 93.
• Led the Mustangs to back-to-back Southwest Preparatory state titles and a combined 61-13 in 2018 and 2019 (31-5 in 2017-18 and 30-8 in 2018-19).
• Named the Houston Private School MVP by the Houston Chronicle and tabbed All-State by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches as a senior.
