John Telich

John anchors Fox 8 sports on the weeknights and produces a variety of features, in addition to serving as veteran correspondent on many key events. He also tackles tough physical assignments, such as flying with the Navy’s Blue Angles. For seven seasons, J.T. hosted the CAVS pre-game show on Fox Sports Net.

Prior to joining WJW as a sports anchor in September 1980, J.T. was assistant sports director of WIVB TV in Buffalo, New York. A graduate of Euclid High and Ashland College, he began his career in Ashland, Ohio, in 1972 with local radio.

An 11-time Emmy Award winner, J.T. has won numerous awards for his coverage of Cleveland sports, both professional and high school. His features have been honored by U.P.I., A.P. and The Press Club of Cleveland. In 2007, he was named to the Hall of Fame by the Cleveland Association of Broadcasters, and won the Chuck Heaton Award from the Cleveland Press Club.

A fitness buff, J.T. has completed over 100 triathlons in the past 27 years, including three Ironman Distance races. In 2012, Telich completed the Burning River 100 Mile Ultra Marathon in just over 29 hours.

The Euclid native has been married for 36 years to the former Jane Quinton. They are the parents of three children, Courtney, Patrick and Joseph. A puppy English Springer Spaniel, Scarlet, joined the family in December 2012.
