The REACH program is a community-based program for youth with diabetes. This program offers the opportunity for youth with diabetes to participate in fun and exciting activities. Although the REACH program is traditionally held on the campus of ODU, due to COVID-19, we will be facilitating Spring 2021 REACH virtually. The mission of REACH is to provide a unique and fun experience for youth with diabetes to have fun while focus on healthy lifestyles.

The REACH program offers the opportunity to socialize with friends, medical staff, recreation therapists, and college students outside of the traditional classroom setting. Youth and volunteers will share knowledge about proper nutrition and skills that assist in overcoming adversity. This program is designed for youth aged 10-16 years of age.  Although the program is designed for youth with diabetes, participants are encouraged to invite friends to join the fun. WHERE: Virtually though Zoom
TIME: Every last Thursday of the month, 4:30-5:30 pm
AGES: Youth 10-16
COSTS: Free due to funding from the Hampton Roads Community Foundation and the Lions Club International Foundation.  

A note regarding our Spring 2021 programming: Although programming will be virtual for our Spring 2021 session, many of the components in our online registration form cannot be altered or amended due to university policy. Despite us not meeting face-to-face in the upcoming months, we are hopeful that we can resume normal soon.
