Driving

Determine whether it’s cheaper to drive or fly.

Thursday and Friday are anticipated to be peak traffic days.

Hit the road when there’s less traffic and allow extra time when traveling to your destination. Expect congestion on major roadways around big cities and popular destinations.

Hotels

Midrange hotel rates have increased about 42%, with the average lowest rates ranging between $199 and $257 a night at AAA-approved hotels.

Consider staying at an all-inclusive resort. This limits driving and paying a la carte for entertainment and dining.

Car rentals

Daily car rental rates decreased 16% compared with last year, with the average lowest rate coming in at $100 a day.
