The Georgetown University Film Festival (GUFF) is thrilled to celebrate the art of short-form filmmaking.

Now in its ninth year, GUFF, a student-run festival, aims to provide a global platform for students and emerging filmmakers. Our goal is to showcase their works and introduce audiences to diverse perspectives in visual storytelling. We firmly believe in the transformative power of film as a catalyst for inclusive and representative discussions.

The 2024 festival is scheduled for April 18-19, taking place in person on the Georgetown campus, presented by the Film and Media Studies Program. The event will feature screenings and panel discussions. Submissions are currently open until March 31, with a submission fee of $5. If you are a student in need of a submission waiver, please reach out to us via email: gufilmfestival@gmail.com

Rules & Terms
- Submissions must be 25 minutes in length or less
- Films must have been completed on or after Jan 1st, 2023
- All genres are accepted
- No resubmissions will be considered
- An individual can only submit one film to the festival

    I had a wonderful experience playing Raspberry at Georgetown University Shorts FF. Alvaro de la Cruz was a great moderator for our Q&A and really wonderful at communicating with us. Unfortunately we cannot take place in person at all, and perhaps my only gripe is that honestly the festival was too short for me to be able to catch the programming during my busy schedule (but this is par for the course with virtual festivals during COVID times). I checked out the Program Guide though and I really love the curation they put together. I wouldn't hesitate to play at their festival again!

    I was selected but I never understand where was the awards, they told me that there was no awards because they are new but I think that the awards can be only a mention, not necesary a physical prize :c
