Help me give my students some basic school supplies that they wouldn't have if not provided by me, along with an area that will allow for flexible seating on beanbags!
My students love to learn and the smile on their faces when something finally clicks brings me such joy. We use the boards during whole group for a quick minigame to check understanding. Then when working in small groups, students always reach for the small whiteboards to do their scrap work. Studies have shown that students are more likely to at least try a math problem if they are doing work on an erasable surface, such as a white board, so a lot of dry erase markers are a must. As the year goes on, my bucket of dry erase markers quickly disappears.
They thrive when using whiteboards for their work and have choice seating.
Choice seating allows students to take charge of their learning and choose a space that works best for their learning style. Currently, they can sit at a table or desk, underneath a table with a clipboard, or sometimes at a standing desk. I would love to provide a rug and bean bags as another more comfortable option.
