Using LTI

If you use a common learning management system (LMS) like Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas, Desire2Learn, Jenzabar, or Sakai, then the Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) option is another option. LTI provides the most secure method for accessing Docuseek2.

Tip: For an excellent set of tutorials on setting up an LTI resource like Docuseek2 in Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Desire2Learn and Sakai, see this LTI Tutorials page.

To set up LTI, you need to know three pieces of information:
  1. Your consumer key
  2. Your shared secret
  3. The launch URL (web address) of the Docuseek media.

How do I find my my Consumer key, Shared secret and Launch URL?

The consumer key and secret are common to your account, and are used by your LMS administrator to register an external tool / resource like Docuseek2 for site-wide use. The launch URL is specific to the film being used; or can go to the Docuseek2 home page.

General instructions

First check to see if your LMS administrator has already set up Docuseek as a registered tool. If not, provide the administrator with the base URL (http://docuseek2.com), your institution's consumer key and your institution's shared secret. Once Docuseek has been registered in your LMS, add an activity to your course, and paste the launch URL of the film in the appropriate field.

Tip: Important! Keep your consumer secret and key to yourself. Do not share them or put them in a public place.

You may also set up the resource just for your course. You may need to switch to advanced settings to enter the necessary credentials, including the consumer key and secret and the launch URL.
