Canvas Parent Resources

Parent Observer Setup:

• To observe your student’s Canvas account, you will first need a pairing code. You can get an access code by requesting it from one of your student’s teachers or from the Ridgeview Parent Center (extension 64019)

• Once you have the pairing code follow the instruction below to activate your parent observer account.

STEP 1

Go to the KHSD Canvas URL and click the "Parent of a Canvas User?" link (see image below).

STEP 2

Enter your personal information, email address, and create a password. The Student Pairing Code is a six-digit number that should be provided to you by your school site, your student, or their teacher. This code contains numbers and letters and is CaSe-sensitive. Codes expire after seven days, so be sure to use them as soon as you get them or a new code will need to be generated. Your student can generate a new Student Pairing Code if they have access to their account.

STEP 3

Begin Observing! You will gain immediate access to your student's Canvas activities and course information. For more information about what you can do, see Canvas's Support Site.
