Enjoy an evening honoring Black filmmakers in Arkansas!

Co-hosted by DAYVISION, Crystal Bridges, The University of Arkansas’s Juneteenth Committee, and the Community Cohesion Project (CCP), the Third Annual Black Film Showcase offers a deep dive into African American film experiences in Northwest Arkansas in an effort to raise awareness, education, exposure, and networking opportunities for Black Arkansans.

The evening’s main event will be held on June 15 from 6:30 to 9 p.m., and features three short film screenings hosted by Mike Day, followed by filmmaker discussions moderated by Ify Egbosimba.

The filmmakers featured include:

  • Rachel Valley, Associate Producer, TV One’s Uncensored
  • Demetrius Johnson, Filmmaker, Walking with the Dogs
  • Raymond House III, Music Score and Actor | All Units

Afterwards, we invite you to a post-film mix and mingle with filmmakers, the DAYVISION team members, the University of Arkansas’s Juneteenth Committee, and CCP from 9–10 p.m.

For film lovers and filmmakers, we invite you to a deep-dive filmmaking workshop before the main screenings, from 6–6:30 p.m. The workshop is hosted by De Shunn T. Berry, a Micheaux Film Award Recipient and co-presented by the Micheaux Award and Film Labs.

Registration is required for the main film event, but drop-ins are welcome for the workshop and post-event mingle. A cash bar will be available with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and complimentary cheese, crackers, and popcorn will be provided throughout the evening’s program.

Free, tickets required. Reserve your spot online or by calling Guest Services at (479) 657-2335 today.
