Kohl’s Honors Military and Veteran Families

11/10/2021

We support our associates, community and customers who have served with career opportunities, community initiatives, and a special military discount.

Kohl’s is proud to support active and former military personnel, veterans and their families, and recognize them as important members of our team, our community and our customer base. We honor those who have served and sacrificed. Read below to learn more about the ways Kohl’s is supporting military and veteran families on Veterans Day, and throughout the year. To our veterans and military members — we salute your dedication and thank you for your service.

We Help Grow Careers
Kohl’s offers roles for veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses that require the unique skills, values and work ethic acquired in the armed forces. In support of recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce, Kohl’s actively recruits at military bases and partners with veteran service organizations to help connect service members and their spouses to careers within our company.

We Give Back
Kohl's actively supports organizations that are focused on helping military, veterans and their families through a robust volunteer program that offers associates the opportunity to serve and give back to their communities. Volunteers have partnered with organizations such as Camp Hometown Heroes, Milwaukee Veterans Homeless Initiative and Pink Berets. In addition, Kohl’s hosts veteran-focused events like the Virtual Veteran Resource Summit to assist veterans both personally and professionally. Since 2019, Kohl’s has donated $200,000 to the USO, a global nonprofit that has a network of centers, programs and mobile units that strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country.

We Show Our Appreciation
To demonstrate our gratitude, we want to thank our veterans, active and former military personnel, and their immediate families with 30% off in-store purchases from Thursday, November 11 through Sunday, November 14. We Share Stories
As a way of celebrating veterans at Kohl’s and in communities around the country, Kohl’s Veteran & Military Business Resource Group (BRG) offers associates a connection to fellow service members, their families, and supporters. Read on to learn from BRG members what Veterans Day means to them.

Andy Blake, Vice President of Fulfillment Operations, and U.S. Army Veteran

Michelle Calvillo, Quality Assurance Manager, and U.S. Marine Corps Veteran
“To me, Veterans Day is about remembering those who have served in the military within a variety of capacities, and remembering their family members who gave so much to support them, while they were supporting us.”

Vincent Ruggiero, Director of Credit and Customer Service, and Co-Chapter Leader of the Veteran & Military BRG
“Veterans Day is about taking a moment to thank all of those who stepped up to serve our country, both past and present, but more importantly, it’s a time for us to thank those who made the ultimate sacrifice. I would like to pay tribute to those who have gone before and laid the foundation for things that truly make our country the greatest country in the world.”

Kristine Vranak, Senior Manager of Pricing & Advertising Compliance, and Co-Chapter Leader of the Veteran & Military BRG
“To me, Veterans Day is honoring those who have sacrificed for my family’s freedom, and to acknowledge the fact that freedom is not free. I’d like to honor and thank all that have served.”
