Faculty and Staff Support and Networking Groups for BIPOC/ALANA, LGBTQIAP+, and Faith/Spirituality Communities at WPI

Preview

The Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Multicultural Education is curating faculty and staff support and networking groups for BIPOC/ALANA, LGBTQIAP+, and faith/spirituality communities at WPI. While iterations of these groups may have existed in the past at WPI, the goal of these new groups is to have a specific department focused on leading these initiatives, providing a space where faculty and staff feel they have community and solidarity, and provide a resource and network to our students who also identify within these groups. These support networks are based off feedback received from the Mental Health and Well-being Task Force. These entities would connect, minimally, once per month to commune, relate, and regroup. All goals and initiatives the groups would like to create will be based solely on the attendees and their needs at the time. There are no current pressures for the groups to complete tasks or initiatives as we want to create specific support and networking groups for our undergraduates students, graduate students, faculty, and staff to lean on.
