Proposed LDS Building 3D Model: https://lasvegas.maps.arcgis.com/home/webscene/viewer.html?webscene=01dfa002671f433f8480127cb24900ec&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR3-tOCPRs-FxgAYPIjRr7NE2SkAZnvUSAEsQ19RxIsNUNyfQ9OVZE9ECXI_aem_ARLUiboLsmzD7cjZqRT9LxfsuQ1IB3EeTUKTNLe9MbU0PQlt68tXQa65p_h1wVF9arBE_CM2cX1jZ36ld5k3KSGB

We, the undersigned residents and concerned citizens, hereby petition against the proposed changes to zoning codes to accommodate the construction of a 200-foot tall temple by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS in our cherished residential neighborhood. While we respect the religious freedom and contributions of the LDS Church, we firmly believe that any development MUST adhere to existing zoning regulations to protect the integrity of our community.

Our residential neighborhood is defined by its tranquil atmosphere, dark skies, limited traffic, and breathtaking vistas, particularly those of Lone Mountain. These qualities are not only essential to our quality of life but also contribute to the unique character and charm of our community. Introducing a structure of the proposed magnitude would disrupt the balance we've carefully maintained and cherished.

Furthermore, we urge our local politicians and decision-makers not to be swayed by financial contributions or external pressures but rather to prioritize the interests and well-being of the residential community they serve. It is crucial that they recognize the importance of preserving the residential character of our neighborhood and safeguarding the natural beauty that surrounds us.

We understand the desire for religious institutions to expand and serve their congregations, but we firmly believe that such expansion must be carried out within the confines of existing zoning regulations. We call upon the LDS Church to reconsider its plans in light of the concerns raised by the community and explore alternative locations that align more closely with the established zoning guidelines.

In conclusion, we implore our fellow residents, local politicians, and all stakeholders to stand united in preserving the integrity of our residential neighborhood. Let us work together to ensure that any development respects our zoning codes, maintains the tranquility of our community, and preserves the natural beauty that makes our neighborhood a cherished place to call home.

Community awareness and legal expenses to oppose a multi-billion dollar organization will be a challenge. You can help contribute to the GoFundMe that has been set-up to help cover the costs:  https://gofund.me/b216cff3
