EMDR Basic Training For Mental Health Clinicians - Online Continuing Education Program

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method validated to aid in recovery from trauma and other distressing experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain. For many patients, EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other psychotherapies.

CGI’s continuing education EMDR Basic Training Program provides experiential training that will familiarize students with a spectrum of EMDR therapy applications that accelerate the treatment of pathologies related to disturbing events and present life conditions. A number of neurophysiological studies have documented the rapid post treatment effects for a range of presenting complaints including traumatic stress, anxiety, somatic conditions, depression and addictions.

What are the benefits of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Basic Training?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a mental health intervention offered by trained and licensed mental health clinicians. This training is a great asset in preparing to serve communities suffering from severe mental illness and trauma through trauma-informed care and restorative practices. It is designed to fit the contemporary and future directions of the current mental health landscape.

Benefits of completing an EMDR basic training include:

  • Enhance your professional knowledge, skills, and career potential
  • Apply a Trauma-Responsive paradigm to your professional life
  • Involve Patients in the treatment process

The American Psychiatric Association, the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs/Dept. of Defense, The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and the World Health Organization among many other national and international organizations recognize EMDR therapy as an effective treatment.
