CCHA Forward of the Week: Louis Boudon, Sr., Lake Superior State (Grenoble, France)

Boudon paced all CCHA skaters with four points on a goal and three assists, while posting a +3 in Lake Superior State’s road sweep of Ferris State last week. Registering six shots on goal, he opened the weekend with two helpers in a 3-2 overtime win on Friday, including setting up the game-winning tally. On Saturday, he was +2 with a goal and an assist in a 4-2 Lakers victory.

CCHA Defenseman of the Week: Elias Rosen, Sr., Bemidji State (Mora, Sweden)

Rosen led all conference blueliners with four points on a goal and three assists last week, helping Bemidji State to a split at St. Thomas. After notching four shots on Friday, he exploded for only the second four-point game by a CCHA defenseman this season on Saturday in a 7-2 Beavers’ victory, including a goal and three assists. For the weekend, he blocked three shots at the defense end of the ice.

CCHA Goaltender of the Week: Blake Pietila, Sr., Michigan Tech (Howell, Mich.)

Pietila went 1-1-0 with league-bests in goals-against average (1.52) and save percentage (.958), while notching the only shutout in the conference – his nation-leading ninth of the season – in Michigan Tech’s split at Minnesota State over the weekend. On Friday, he stopped all 35 shots he faced in a 2-0 Huskies victory, before making 33 saves in a 3-2 loss on Saturday night. For the week, he totaled 68 stops in 118:30 minutes of action.

CCHA Rookie of the Week: Kyle Kukkonen, Fr., Michigan Tech (Maple Grove, Minn.)

Kukkonen scored a CCHA-best two goals, including a game-winner, and was a +3 with nine shots on goal, which were both good for second among league skaters. On Friday, he broke a scoreless tie in the third period, helping Tech to a 2-0 victory. He then netted a shorthanded, game-tying goal on Saturday in an eventual 3-2 defeat.
