Chemistry, BS
Our students spend less time in the lecture hall than students at other institutions do, and more time in the research lab. We encourage undergraduates to get involved in research projects early on, working alongside senior faculty and graduate students. In addition, all seniors in the chemistry program conduct an independent research project and present their findings to classmates and faculty.

Biochemistry (Health Professions), BS
The Chemistry/Pre-professional major prepares students for careers outside chemistry — particularly in the health sciences. The program covers all the coursework required for admission to most health-related postgraduate schools.

Chemistry Pre-Pharmacy
The Chemistry Pre-Pharmacy degree track prepares students for careers in the pharmaceutical sciences. The program offering highlights a 3+3 Dual Degree with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore School of Pharmacy. The program covers all the coursework required for the completion of a bachelor of science in Chemistry (3 years) and admission to most pharmacy postgraduate schools.

Computer Science, BS
Computer science majors at Delaware State learn more than how to write code. They also develop career-advancing skills such as communication, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. Food and Nutritional Sciences, BS
The Food and Nutritional Science (FNS) program is housed in the Department of Human Ecology. A baccalaureate degree in Food and Nutritional Sciences is conferred upon completion of all required courses. The department offers six undergraduate options within the Food and Nutritional Sciences program, Coordinated Program in Dietetics, Nutritional Science, Food Science, Pre-Allied Health Sciences, Pre-Medicine and Pre-Physician Assistant.

Nutritional Sciences/Coordinated Program in Dietetics, MS
The master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences with a Coordinated Program in Dietetics concentration is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). It combines didactic coursework and a minimum of 1000 hours of supervised practice in clinical nutrition, community nutrition and food service management to qualify students to sit for the national Registration Examination for Dietitians after they graduate.
