Claire Nasr earned a master's degree in natural resources, with a focus on wildlife, from Humboldt State University in 2019. Her graduate thesis involved spatial overlap analysis at the California Coastal National Monument to investigate relative disturbance risk to eight species of seabirds and pinnipeds from human use and to inform science-based cooperative management in areas where humans and wildlife overlap.

Nasr will assist in the development process of the updated management plan of the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary, help facilitate engagement with multiple stakeholders during essential sanctuary advisory council meetings, and contribute to outreach and education efforts.
