Phoebe is 18 years old, and in her last year of school. Her boyfriend Jake is going through a stage of hating his dad. He had been staying with his grandparents and became influenced by religious teachings. Arlo is patient with him making him dinner. Jake's girlfriend Phoebe teasingly calls Arlo - Daddy - as a joke. Phoebe reluctantly attends a slumber party. Unwanted, her boyfriend's ex turns up and they play a game. The results of the game go online and before she knows it Phoebe's life implodes. Jake dumps her, and having no choice she decides to leave town. Phoebe worked for Arlo as a researcher. Arlo understood that she need to leave, was sad to see her go so he gave her some extra money to help her. Three years later, they meet again at a diner that Phoebe works at. Arlo is attracted to Phoebe and the person she has become. This is a really well written story, and is compelling to read. Arlo and Phoebe's relationship develops slowly, and with them admitting their attraction to each other. There are some steamy, hot, sexy, sensual, kindle melting scenes as their relationship develops. The characters are well developed, have depth with both POVs giving an insight to their feelings and backstories. The plot is well paced and compelling to read! and....there is a HEA!

This was my first read from this author. I will definitely be going back for more! IT WAS HOT!!!

The story is set in Penny Grove. Phoebe is 18 years old, and in her last year of school. Her boyfriend Jake has a lot of angst (you’ll learn more about that in the story), and seems a bit… lost (and in my opinion, is a bit of an obnoxious a-hole). She also has a good relationship with his Dad Arlo, whom she has a part-time job with (law firm). Jake and his Dad don’t have a great relationship, though not for a lack of trying on Arlo’s part.

Jake dumps Phoebe after a social media post from a small party she went to. The post was vengeful and nasty, and due to Jake’s strict beliefs, doesn’t give Phoebe a chance to explain or talk things through. She’s absolutely heartbroken, and ends up dropping out of school, subsequently gives up the opportunity to go to college, and leaves town.

Three years later, Phoebe is living and working in New York, when Arlo serendipitously ends up being served at one of the tables in the restaurant where Phoebe works. He’s there temporarily for work, and they end up catching up, and he offers her a great job. She takes it, and over time, they explore some developing feelings they have for each other.

It’s sweet and hot and romantic, and did I mention HOT?! There is more to it, but I don’t want to spoil things for readers with too many details. I’ll just say I really enjoyed it ;)

Phoebe life collapsed around her when she attended a slumber party Her boyfriends ex was there and she caused drama for Phoebe the only thing was that her boyfriend Jake didn't stand up for her he turned her away. Arlo who was Phoebe's boss and Jake's father was sad to see her go but he understood her need for a change so he gave her a bonus so she could start a new life. Now three years later he comes across her working in a diner and offers her a job but things soon heat up between them how come he has a better relationship with his new employee than he does with his son and how will his son handle things if he starts a relationship with Phoebe you will have to read to see if they get a HEA

This was a romance between a young woman and an older man. She was once his son's girlfriend but that was in the past. Now she was his employee and a friend in the lonely big city. The age gap never worried them, they had always had a good relationship in the past, but working close together day after day there was an attraction between them that kept growing until it exploded into a weekend of erotic lovemaking between them. When his work came to a close it was time to return to their hometown and he wanted her to come with him. The past weeks between them and convinced them that what they felt for each other was love but would it be enough. This story hooked me from the beginning, Phoebe had such dreams of the future before she left home, would those dreams be fulfilled or will they break like her dreams in the past. Read the book to find out the exciting and dramatic conclusion to their story.

This was an enjoyable read. I was thoroughly hooked from the first page and I couldn’t put it down. It was a page turner that had me hanging on every word. The book took you on a roller coaster ride, through the turmoil of high school, to navigating life after school, to love, to forgiveness.

This book is about Phoebe, an 18year old who gets humiliated in front of her whole school and her heart broken forcing her to leave school and her town behind. 3 years later she runs into her ex boyfriends dad, who is the one person who was kind to her after the ordeal, in her new hometown of New York. After spending a lot of time together and. Anew job opportunity for Phoebe, they fall in love. The ending finishes a little quickly and would have loved a bit more development around some of the bigger details at the end that seemed rushed over.
There are lots of hot and steamy scenes as well as a lovely HEA.

Wow! I loved this book. To be fare to all those reviews that say this was hardly taboo, i think the book isn't named correctly. It does give the impression of taboo and erotica but the story is so much more complex and amazing at there. There are layers to this story that I was NOT expecting. They didn't have a crazy insta-love connection and had more of a slow burn romance which I loved. There was no cheating on her boyfriend and they didn't get together until years later. I highly recommend this book to those that enjoy age-gap romances.
