Crowne Point #3

Forbidden Fate

Rate this book
I only had one rule: don’t fall in love with the cruel prince.
I broke it.
When the clock struck twelve, I went back to being a servant. He promised to let me go with my heart in pieces...but Grayson Crowne always was king at breaking promises.
I refuse to let him lock me in a tower.
I have no choice but to take the only out offered me—another cruel prince.
Refuge in a man I loathe.
Rescued from the man I love.
I wanted to forget Grayson, forget Crowne Hall, and hide, however fate has other plans.
But if Grayson and I are fated, then our fate is forbidden.
Our happily ever after will only end one way...in heartbreak.

Forbidden Fate is the third book in the Crowne Point universe. You need to have read Stolen Soulmate to read Forbidden Fate.

Is it possible to have one of your most anticipated books with an amazing couple ruined for you with the follow up?

First of all, I'm a stickler for transparency. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice...welp, I'm still calming my tits over here. I picked up Stolen Soulmate fully expecting a standalone. Well imagine my surprise when it didn't turn out to be that. So of course I had to read the conclusion and grabbed this book. Now imagine my surprise when this was NOT the conclusion and there's another book! And before you come at me with pitchforks, no, I don't believe disclosing to readers that they're not investing their money and time into a duet is a spoiler. I genuinely felt hoodwinked. Because here's the thing, I've burned out on duets and trilogies and had I known this wasn't the conclusion, I wouldn't have read it. Oh and it's not even clear if the next book will be a conclusion either. I literally got cold sweat flashbacks to the Crossfire series here. *shudders*

Why did I get burned out on trilogies, you ask? Because it's a rare occasion that the story actually justifies more then one/or two books. It begins to feel like I'm reading stretched out filler just for the sake of an additional book.

So here's the thing, I won't tell you spoilers about this book. There's plenty of people that loved it, and I certainly wouldn't want to ruin it for those that haven't yet read it. What I will tell you, is this book totally killed my interest in the couple. I could care less about the conclusion at this point and it's devastating to me considering how much I loved Stolen Soulmate.

This was drama for the sake of drama. It was OTT, bordering on ridiculous. The turn that these characters took was rage inducing. Now I love me some angst, but what I don't love is manufactured drama. And this? This felt like manufactured drama. And it was so unnecessary. It did nothing to drive the plot forward and felt like pure filler. By the end, I absolutely hated Story and needed 10 minutes of silence in a dark room to soothe my rage.

Will I be reading the next book? Nope. I've lost any and all interest in these characters and I'm beyond bummed. But hey, clearly I'm the black sheep here with my opinion. So take my review with a grain of salt.

I will be honest I don’t know where to begin. There is bad, then awful, then there is this pile of trash. I think there are a few things that anyone considering buying this book deserves to know.
Apparently this turns into a strait porno. Story screws Wes (the guy who previously raped her, without a condom no less) Greyson walks in and watches. Who knows why he didn’t stop it, they both stare each other down. He is broken-hearted. Wes says that she should invite him in and have him f$&k her a$$. He’s a real peach. After Wes finishes and leaves Grey pulls Story to him and sticks his fingers up her vagina, pills then out and makes her suck Wes’s nasty off them (remember, no condom). Then immediately , HE FRENCH KISSES HER. As in Gray kisses her mouth with another mans freaking nasty semen in it. And then he decides to screw her with Wes semen inside of her... Check out the portions I highlighted. JUST NO.

So back to the point... Both Story and Gray cheat on each other with their new spouses. Although his cheating was only a hand job on their wedding night, because he couldn’t make himself “be” with Lottie. I thought that was bad enough, but no Story definitely took it over the top. Story also makes an insane amount of bad choices and is being selfish. She marries Wes, her rapist, and since it bears repeating again I have to say it again... Story screws Wes (completely her idea) forces Grey to to watch.

The author pulled another bait and switch, instead a duet (as the author has referred to this as for months, after originally marketing it as a stand-alone) it’s now a trilogy.
Yep, that’s right guys, another cliffhanger with no warning. Such a waste.
Gray has apparently had a personality transplant, because despite his alpha personality and the cruelty he showed Story in the first book (because she cost him Lottie) he has nothing but fondness for Lottie. He basically gives her his balls, and lets her keep them no matter how selfish she is. Who is this guy? He may still love Story, but I expected more fidelity and loyalty to her than this. On top of all of this, Most of this seems due to the authors greed. It seems obvious to me that she just threw in a bunch of awful drama to create a need for the third book. To the extent that she apparently doesn’t even care about plot or character consistency. Don’t waste your money on this mess.

10th Reread For The Year 2021

The prince is married to another woman. And the maid is pregnant with his child......married to another man.

“You are my poetry, Story. You gave voice and power to my love, before and without you I am numb and empty. You’re my soulmate. My shard matches your shard. You’re my piece. My puzzle. I bleed with you.”

4 "little wife" stars!!!!

Unravelling the second part of Grayson and Storybook's heartbreaking love story.....

Story, the Crowne Hall Cinderella, Stepsister Slut. She's pregnant with the child of Crowne Hall's heir. But is married to another man. A man who raped her. The man who was her first love.

Grayson the Virgin Playboy is now stuck in marriage he doesn't want to be a part of. He was supposed to love her. His childhood sweetheart. His wife. The one who was the reason all this started. But no......he is still haunted with the sweet dreams only his maid could give. The only person who didn't want him for money, power or beauty.

And now both of them are forced to live different Happily Ever Afters. Clara with the Mouse King, and Prince Charming with the Evil Stepsister.

Can they truly have a future?

First of all I must say, yes there is a small disgusting part where the h fucks the OM in front of the H(as revenge, no condoms) and afterwards the H fucks the OM's c*m out of the h. Disgusting as fuck but nope, sorry, I'm already too obsessed with this story to back out. I normally hate stories like that but this, I just couldn't. I loved this characters so much, I just couldn't help but love them.
If you ever read this you'll understand why (depending on how you see it).

“I can’t sign my name next to yours on a piece of paper. Can’t marry you the way I want. Can’t give you the big proposal. But…I don’t want to put a ring on your finger, Snitch. I want to put bruises on your body. I want to put ink in your soul. I want you to do the same to me. Forever.”

Story, love her always. I just can't help it. She's so sweet, so sacrificing, so brave I just couldn't but love her more. For a woman who has always lived in the ashes her strength is admirable. She's willing to give up the easy escape and Happily Ever After so Gray's family, her enemies wouldn't be thrown to the streets. For Grayson she does that.

Gray, oh god his body and words. Each letter, each words he utters from those gorgeous lips expresses his pain and love. In the end when he utters

"Don't leave me little wife"

I was absolutely shattered. I think my heart broke a million times reading this story. I just couldn't. He was so sweet, open and vulnerable lying in front of Story I couldn't help but cry. He is the BEST hero ever. I'm officially in love with Grayson Crowne because he is irresistible.

And the second cliffhanger drove me crazy. I was hoping for a HEA but instead got stuck on a dead end cliff. But I don't regret it. The last book made up for it.

A beautiful heartbreaking story full of drama and love, pain, grief, constant loss, longing and understanding.

Tropes

-Prince/Maid
-Married to Other People
-Cheating
-Ex dramas
Note: Cliffhangers, Cheating, this book contains violence and drama

Highly Recommended(For twisted souls like mine)!!! Enjoy!!!

1.5 stars. Yup. Now before you even dare come at me, this is my opinion and I’m entitled to that. First of all, let me tell you that I have been looking forward to this book for ages. MONTHS. Stolen Soulmate, the first book, was PHENOMENAL. Just incredible. It was what got me soo hooked on Story and Grayson. They were magical in that book. And I was so EXCITED for Forbidden Fate. And now that I have read it. To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. More importantly, I’m just MAD. Like I wasted 5 hours to read something that didn’t even live up to its potential. In the last book, I loved Story. Loved her so much. In that book, I felt like she was so strong and amazing. And in this book, all I felt for her was disgust. She was just awful in this book. Her actions made me question, no felt, like she didn’t love Grayson at all. What she did was so low even lower than what gray did in SS. I felt like she didn’t love Gray. Like she was just a hormonal teen that had a little crush on a guy. Then they had s** and she came back for seconds. I mean she chose to leave a man that would love her till the end of time, and run into the arms of her RAPIST. Top romance novel of 2020 kids. I don’t care if the whole world stood against them. The least she could do is stand by HIM, GRAYSON. Grayson on the other hand. THIS MAN. I love him. I just do. And I felt sooo BAD for him. HE DESERVED BETTER. I felt the love for Story practically flow off of him. He is the only reason I gave this another half star. For Gray. Nevertheless, I felt like this book was just messy. I felt like she was rushing the whole thing and throwing random sh** to fill hundreds of pages. I was really disappointed and LIVID with this book. Forbidden Fate is officially my WORST read this year. So yeah, 1.5 stars. Oh and btw this book ends with a cliffhanger so unless you want to spend another 3 months waiting for the same stuff to happen again, DONT READ IT. Save 5 hours of your time reading something else.
P.S next time I read a book from her I’ll be sure to read the ending first.

EDIT: okay so I’m seeing a lot more reviews about this book saying there is an HEA and let me say that THERE IS NO HEA!!!! It ends with a cliffhanger that is Story going off to marry Wes (her rapist). And also if you think this book is going to be good let me tell you that Story decided to make Gray watch her fuck Wes and then cum in her. YES. THAT HAPPENED. Then Gray decided to fuck her while WES SEMEN was still inside her. Now don’t even TMI me cuz I NEED TO WARN Y’ALL. If you like this book, I’m just gonna tell you that you apparently like books where it is a porno and you can just marry your rapist.

***5 FORBIDDEN CROWNES***

I was enraptured, consumed, gripped from the very first page. Mary Catherine Gebhard WENT THERE with this story, and I am here for ALL of it!

I savoured this book for as long as I possibly could; I really didn’t want to leave this world.

Story and Gray’s journey continues in Forbidden Fate after the events of Stolen Soulmate (Crowne Point #2). To say this book was a 2020 anticipated read of mine is an understatement. I couldn’t wait to get thrust back into this world of elitists – led by the Crownes – who lived in debauchery and followed age-old traditions.

“If our fate is forbidden, then I’ll live as a fugitive.”

Conflict. Betrayal. Love loss. A romance so forbidden, fate went out of its way to keep Story and Gray apart.

My heart ached. My mind raced. My soul wept. Pieces of me became whole and shattered all at once, yet I welcomed all these emotions with open arms. Hours later, and I can’t stop thinking about Story Hale and Grayson Crowne.

Mary Catherine Gebhard, WTF have you done to me?

I cannot recommend this series enough! Anyone on the fence, start with Heartless Hero (Crowne Point #1) – Abigail Crowne’s book, and can be read as a standalone. You’ll see what I mean… The obsession is real when it comes to this series!!

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Grayson has become an expert at breaking promises. Story wants to break out of that routine. She steps up and she ends up in a fate that includes another cruel prince. She hates him. She loves Gray. All she wants is to forget, but fate won’t let her play that game. No. Fate has forbidden plans for Story.
*Book three in the Crowne Point universe. Reading Stolen Soulmate is required before starting this.*

Well, hello, there. I can’t say much, now, can I? The spoilers are dying to come out, but I’m keeping it vague and simple. What I can tell you is that you’ll love it. This was another exquisite addition to the Crowne Point universe! After Heartless Hero, Forbidden Fate is definitely my next fav. I understood Gray better; his actions were excruciating but also gave him more depth as a character. Story stepped up. Her reactions this time around were more lively; she knew what was at stake. She had a lot to lose. I admired her in Forbidden Fate, more than in Stolen Soulmate. My heart broke for her multiple times. I rooted for this leading lady and I wished the best for her. As for Lottie? I don’t know her. West? NO COMMENT.
Our leading characters passed a lot of knowledge upon us, for example, refreshing the concept of friendship and hate-ship. I had lot of hate-ships in this story. The angst, drama and overall madness was ever-present. Get ready for this little light beach read. Couple it with some wine and see you on the other side!

ORIGINAL COMMENT: Will have to keep it short and simple because the spoilers inside of me are dying to get out / VAUGHN IS BACK! OOPS, I MEAN GRAY. Yes, I'm still stirring this pot. Vaughn Spencer wishes he were a tiny bit like Gray. LOL

3 ‘Fate’ ✨

This was me while reading most of this book:
description

Let me preface my review by writing that I’m disappointed with this book. This was one of my most anticipated books of this year considering I fell in love with Stolen Soulmate, the beginning of Story’s and Gray’s story. It was phenomenal and made me fall in love with MCG’s writing! But Forbidden Fate was a huge let down.

Forbidden Fate picks up exactly where the previous book left off, after Gray’s weeding with Lottie. The flowery writing was still great, and the forbidden chemistry still oozed between Gray and Story. But the plot…oh, what happened there? It was a mess, that’s what happened. The pacing of this book was all over the place leaving me confused and frustrated with this book. Furthermore, the plot was just full of miscommunication trope to create angst, but it backfired. I got tired of the miscommunication since it dragged on for most of this book. It felt repetitive and dull.

So, the plot was a mess, but the characters were even a bigger mess. The choices made by characters, specifically Story, made me really question if these are characters that I fell in love with in the first book. Lottie, who I enjoyed reading about in the first book, really got on my nerves in this book because she was so manipulative. Grayson was still trying his damn best to be what Story needs and to keep her safe from his world so his actions made sense in this book, but Story, I don’t know what was going on with her. She grew a backbone, that’s for sure, but her actions were so stupid and annoying at times.

So we have established that plot and characters were mess, but I was still hoping for a HEA for Story and Gray, but imagine my surprise when this book ends on ANOTHER cliffhanger. Now I wouldn’t mind the cliffhanger if I had been warned by the author that this story will continue in the third book, but we are not given any clue that this story will continue in the next book beforehand.

Overall, I don’t know how we got from a 5 star first book to a 3 star second book. MCG’s flowery writing and the chemistry between Story and Gray were the only plus points for this book. Otherwise, the plot, the characters, the execution of well-loved tropes, and the pacing of this book were all let downs. I don’t even know what to expect for the next book and I’m not sure if I am even excited for the next book.

ARC 𝑅𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑒𝑤: Forbidden Fate by Mary Catherine Gebhard

“𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑠𝑛’𝑡 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑒. 𝐼 𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑙𝑒 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑏𝑖𝑑𝑑𝑒𝑛.“

Holy freakin hell!!
I’m in post Forbidden Fate recovery and need something to calm my nerves— STAT!!
Forbidden Fate is 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑜𝑜𝑘 I’ve been anticipating since Stolen Soulmate, and it has blown my world to oblivion. Mary Catherine Gebhard has detonated an emotional time bomb and set off a tidal wave of shattered dreams leaving shrapnels of forbidden desire embedded in my soul.
MCG remains true to her beautiful poetic and lyrical writing wrapped in delicious temptation. My heart has been destroyed but still it beats in hope that all will be well.
Forbidden Fate is not for the faint hearted, the level of angst can only be described as out of this world 𝐻𝐸𝐿𝐿𝐼𝑆𝐻, I can still feel the pain clawing at my gut.

“𝑇ℎ𝑖𝑠 ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑡𝑜𝑜 𝑏𝑒𝑎𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑓𝑢𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑑𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑔𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑒 𝑓𝑎𝑡𝑒.“

Holy book hangover!! I knew from the previous book that going into this one I would be wrecked but I just didn’t anticipate how accurate or how hard I was shook. The author is an evil genius who had my heart in palpitations the whole book and me screaming at my kindle one second and hugging it the next, but omg it was so good. I never thought I’d say this but this book was so well written that I never thought I’d enjoy being destroyed just to be put back together again. There were so many twists and turns I never saw coming and some I did but I wasn’t prepared for Gray to ruin me for all others. I know this is a vague review but trust me you do NOT want anyone to spoil it because you will love every second of reading it. Bravo to the author because she has a way with words and story telling that are so unique and I love to devour them.

From beginning to end, Forbidden Fate will wreak havoc on your emotions.

OMFG, I'm DEAD !! Completely DEAD !!!! MCG killed me with this one. From page to page this story hit me right in the heart and had me shouting so many expletives I wanted to wash my own mouth out with soap.

I can't even begin to tell you what I felt reading this. Never have I read a book where I literally at one point or another wanted to kill every single character. This book doesn't have a peak because it's literally peaking the entire damn time.

This story is heart stopping and has to be the angstiest book I've read so far this year. Easily a top read for me.

Grayson and Story !!!! Their love is so hard, it's just so hard guys and I hurt for them. I screamed for them and I screamed at them as they tried to navigate all the SHIT they have to deal with. Some of it self inflicted some of it not. They both have everything stacked against them with no clear ending in site it seemed.

I won't say much more than this. What I will say is that MCG did not hold back, she threw so many punches with this story. She took risks and I absolutely applaud her for that. Forbidden Fate is absolutely gut wrenching and by gawd I lived for every single moment of it.

An absolute MUST READ.

Honestly, do yourself a huge favour and pick up this series if you haven't already.

This book was a whirlwind of emotions for me— I was anxious, hopeful, sad, but most of all I was frustrated.

Literally everything you can think of is an obstacle for them. Every time I thought we’d finally catch a break something else popped up and ruined it or interrupted them! I was on the verge of screaming I was getting so damn frustrated.

I can’t even say much because everything is spoiler that frustrated me, but I’m going to be honest— I really didn’t like anyone but Gray. If you have read Stolen Soulmate and even Heartless Hero then you already know Beryl and Tansy are awful, but so are Lottie’s parents. I never felt for Lottie, I hate West, I’m torn with Story, but I love Gray. Gray tried so hard to do what was right, but nothing ever went right. Yeah, he could have done some things differently but I love him and I don’t think that’s changing.

Story’s immaturity showed a lot in this one and yes I did feel bad for her at times but she also disappointed me.

This book is a freaking ride. You won’t put it down once you start because you just HAVE to know the outcome. FF gave me emotional whiplash, but I’m not left feeling the same I did after Stolen Soulmate which blew me away so I’m going with 3.75 stars

EDITED; I cannot understand the many 5 stars this book got??? Like there’s not even character consistency wtf. Y’all are playing with the reader’s money here saying that this book deserved 5 stars.

1.5 stars (ARC KINDLY PROVIDED IN A EXCHANGE FOR A HONEST REVIEW)

Let me start by saying that first; I DNFed the book.
Second; WHAT IS THIS MESS?
Third: WHY SUCH A GOOD STORY HAD TO BE RUINED LIKE THAT?
Fourth: I’m so, utterly, totally, disappointed.

Okay, if you guys read my review of Stolen Soulmate, you’d know that I was waiting this book for so long and looking forward to it. I was obsessed with the story and the characters, with everything. Stolen Soulmate was such a perfect story and book that I am so freaking mad that we got this as the second book. Like, what the actual fuck?

I can actually write this review since I stopped reading at the 63% of it. So, more than enough and half the book. And kinda skipped a lot of chapters until the last two to actually believe what I was being told by other readers that also got an ARC.

Now, what happened, why the fuck did I hate it so much? well, first, it started to get messy when there were a lot of miscommunication, like, a lot of misunderstandings and things that were like ‘okay, how can you be so stupid?’. So, the characters started to do stupid shit, like Lottie allowing shit that she shouldn’t have allowed or how Grayson was trying to convince himself that he was going to be a good husband even when he was totally in love with another woman (man, how can you actually be a good husband when you cannot even get it up without thinking about the other woman? –honestly, I did like it that, since it was honest and cute–). So, the book starts with the wedding, which is totally a mess since a lot of things happens in the reception and I’m truly sorry for Lottie for having THAT wedding when she probably deserved better –at the beginning at least–. Then we have West aka Story’s first love and rapist. He is going after Story like he really loved her and that’s what he actually made her believe but nah, he didn’t fool me neither fooled Gray. Then, we have Grayson and Story fighting and not fighting, being friends but trying at the same time to control whatever feelings they supposedly have for each other –well, more like from Story’s side since I didn’t believe she was actually in love. A total mess–.

When it gets messier is when… Story founds out that she is pregnant just after burying her uncle so, not having anywhere to go since she didn’t want to go back to the palace, she decides to actually leave but since Gray knows that she’s pregnant and sees that she still wants to leave –kinda reasonable since he was married to another woman– he does the stupidest thing, which is he threaded her to fight for the custody of the baby, and obviously she doesn’t like that so she has not other alternative and marries West –yeah, her rapist. Such a good solution! Note the sarcasm–. So, then it gets just so freaking messier from there and I started to dislike even more Story after she tells Gray that she’s gonna say that the baby is West’s like, are you for real girl? Not only that but she is totally a bitch with Grayson because even when he actually tells her why he got married to Lottie, SHE DIDN’T CARE AT ALL and was, read this carefully, was insulted because he didn’t trust her, like… WHAT THE HELL YOU COULD HAVE DONE AGAISNT A POWERFUL FAMILY LIKE THE CROWNES? Are you for real, Story? Like you are a SERVANT. You couldn’t have done ANYTHING and actually worsen it. Grayson was actually trying to save her and give her a good life but she didn’t care and acted like a total brat and bitch, believing that she could’ve made a difference? Like, seriously? A TOTAL MESS. And then we have Grayson that didn’t say anything to her, not things that he should have definitely tell her so he could have her back but not! He thinks is best if he just doesn’t say anything. I was so done here. But then yeah, it can get worse, so Story started to feel fucking butterflies for West?, I’m- omg I’m  sorry but what I hate the most in books is when the hero or the heroine start to feel things towards ANOTHER PERSON (I don’t care if they are just butterflies) Like, IS THAT REALLY LOVE? I don’t think so. Grayson deserved better; WAY BETTER. Like, smarter things could have gone down but this shit? Yeah, a total mess and I’m so fucking disappointed because I truly loved Story and Grayson in SS and we got FF and is a total disaster and made me actually love Grayson and hate Story in a way that I was actually so mad at the story, at the book, at the characters but more at the author. She totally ruined the story and the characters for me.

I was going to give it 1 star but since in this book Grayson behaved in a way that I liked –no cheating, totally in love with Story and just being real with his emotions– I give it 1,5 but just because of Grayson.

Honestly, this was a tv show that we see in tv and get bored because there are lots of things that happen, unnecessary things and things that could have been handled in a better way but nope.

What bothers me the most is that this was a book that I was really excited about. I was waiting for it to heal the wounds that SS left in me but it worsens them and made me feel so mad, so disappointed like I’m writing this just after deciding that I was not going to finish it since I was done with it. Like I needed to get this out because I was feeling so mad at the author that I just needed to write this now.

I feel sorry for the Grayson and Story of Stolen Soulmate because they totally deserved better. I’m so sorry sweetie.

Okay so I thought i ll hate Grayson in this book cuz he married lottie blah blah blah but I really dont like Story now, ( spoilers ) she married her rapist... and she described it as if West just slapped her wrist and not fuck her against her will. 🙄 except the marrying rapist part and also fucking him towards the end, I understand why she did what she did and at least she wasnt desperate at the beginning when Gray married Lottie. Story was strong enough to not show her emotions. She wanted to go away from Grayson and did everything possible she could, but each time Grayson tried to fix everything.. Story fucked up and ruined his plan. Like. Every. Fucking. Time. Ugh! When she married West, I got so angry cuz that was a stupid move. But i dont blame Story only cuz in this book Gray and Story, they both fucks up. I hated Lottie the most cuz she disgusted me, she is so fucking desperate and i am like where is ur self respect girl? ( spoilers) Gray never fucked her but like on their wedding night he came on her thighs and she pushed it inside her.... and i ..mean..no no. You dont do it girl like no. Ugh, i legit hate her and the whole “team lottie” thing was so unrealistic. People were on sides ( in this book) “team lottie” and “cindrella” like this whole thing was unrealistic af. There was a scene where Story was outside and people gathered with banners saying “team lottie”, that made me cringe so bad cuz who the fuck does that.

I felt bad for Gray cuz he is in the middle of everything, he loves Story so much and i just love him. Overall the book was okay-ish for me but it got dragged a lot, and it ends on a cliffhanger...again.. 🤦🏽‍♀️. But i am still gonna read the third book cuz my boy Gray deserves happiness. i liked it but wayyy too much unnecessary drama, Story making stupid decisions and some of the sex scenes were disgusting with capital D. Did i mention that Story fucks West who is her rapist in front of Gray? And Gray keeps watching? They all are fucked up in a really bad way.

3 Crowns

Mary is beyond talented. I thoroughly enjoy her writing style. She is a gifted author.

That being said, there are things that didn’t work for me:
- the story is cyclical. There is little to no growth of character or progression of plot.
-the plot is repetitive. Different details, but the basic same event time and again.
- we end up back at the beginning again.
- there are is a lot of drama, a lot that gets in their way, and I think if the ending would have been different I would have been okay to get through the drama storm. However, that isn’t how any of it played out.

Did the ending intrigue me? It did. I want to see how it all ends for these four characters, but, to be honest, I’m more excited for Gemma & Grim and to return to a Crowne Point world that consumes me the way Heartless Hero and Stolen Soulmate did.

So why the three crowns at all? Mary’s writing gets the three crowns.

✨Review Forbidden Fate (Crowne Point, #3) by Mary Catherine Gebhard✨

“𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙮𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙖𝙞𝙙 𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙚. 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙠, 𝙪𝙣𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜. 𝙄𝙣 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙩. 𝙄𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙨.”

I had to take a couple days since I finished this masterpiece of a novel to get my thoughts in order and I am still in a major book hangover.. When I tell you guys this is THE top read of 2020 I am not lying. Mary just keeps getting better and better.. my heart is in my stomach, my jaw is on the floor, and my thoughts are consumed with Gray & Story.

Mary is one of the best authors of this generation and if you’ve yet to read one of her books pick up this series now. I am emotional, I am sick to my stomach, I am happy, I am angry. Mary is an emotional terrorist and it has never been more true. I am completely in a trance, my heart is spellbound by these characters, and I have never been so emotionally moved and invested in two characters in my life. I was so excited to get thrown back into the life of these royals that keep you on the edge of your seat and they definitely did not disappoint. “𝙁𝙪𝙘𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛. 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛. 𝙂𝙚𝙩 𝙤𝙛𝙛 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙖 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙚. 𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙡𝙡 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣, 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙮𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙚”

Without giving away any spoilers.. this is book three in the Crowne Point Series and once again features Grayson & Story. This book picks up right where Stolen Soulmate leaves off. HIGHLY recommend you read Heartless Hero first because there is cross overs of Gray and Story in that one and Abigail and Theo are EVERYTHING. Then pick up book two Stolen Soulmate! 🤍

This book will make you FEEL Mary can evoke feelings in you, you never even knew you had, get ready for a wild ride of love, revenge, secrets, chaos, lust, sex, betrayal, conflict, heart wrenching love loss and insane plot twists. 10/10 recommended!!

5+⭐️👑

I am so freaking mad and disappointed I could literally cry. I waited soooo fucking long for this stupid book and it was the worst shit show. The main guy was a spineless douche and the heroine was a dumb idiot. The trope the author used for conflict was, ugh!!!!!!!!!!! 😠😠😠😠😠😠

I dnf this stupid book at pg 287 when i realized the author did another fucking cliffhanger. I'm over this dumb series. I'm so freaking mad.

Edited:
I'm adding a spoiler on the main trope of the story and ending. Some of you guys have been requesting spoilers. Keep in mind i dnf the story and just skimmed the ending.

Son. Of. A. Bitch...
REALLY MARY??
The woman is evil!

Mary, the name seems innocent, she looks innocent... However, the books she writes are far from innocent. They are sinister, they are gut-wrenching, they are dark, twisted, and have my mind on overdrive trying to piece together the story and that is exactly what I love about them.

Grayson and Story's isn't something out of a fairytale. There are so many twists and turns you do not see coming. It's not an easy ride to be on and it will rip hard at all your emotional heartstrings. I went from happy, to sad, to angry, to ready to rip shreds and curse the author out in a matter of one book, but did I love every single minute of it, every single word? YES... FUCK YES, I DID!

These two are destruction, they bounce off each other in the most intense and cruel ways. Vicious, cruel, and controlled. The games, betrayals, the lies and the secrets... ALL OF IT. It was overwhelming. It was intense, it was addictive and all-consuming. I love these two but I hate them as well, but I love them... Gah!
It is evil... It's riddled and haunted with dark twists that blindsided me and had my heart pounding outside of my chest, my jaw hitting the floor and my mind reeling. Even days after, I sit here completely consumed...

Throughout the last two books, this one would honestly show the most growth and development went it came to the characters. More to the point Story. Her strength in this book alone floored me and I was in complete awe in the way the author has written it out. She's become one of my favorites leads ever.

This would have to be one of my top reads for 2020 so far and one I know I will be going back and re-reading. It was epic, it was intense, it was mind provoking, and it was tragically beautiful. It was perfect!

Worthy of more than 5 Stars!

3 stars

here’s the thing. I was really excited for this release and had anticipated Grayson and Story’s HEA and, because I was in a huge slump, I was hoping this book would take me out of it but I can’t help but feel disappointed. :( It took me longer than I thought to finish this because the story didn’t go where I had hoped it would.

My favorite character is still Grayson. I wasn’t annoyed with him the way I was with Story and Lottie. The decisions he made, I could understand. Of course, I also understand why Lottie felt the way she felt, but did she really have to be manipulative?? It always rubbed me the wrong way whenever she would tell Grayson she’s fine with pretending to be Story if it means they could kiss or have sex. 😳 As for Story, I actually liked her character in the second book and was hoping she would grow a little backbone but it’s funny how, when she does it here, I wasn’t a fan of the choices she made. It felt like most of the book was just one misunderstanding after another and it felt repetitive here so I’m not sure how to feel about it. :/

It sucks cause I LOVED the second book - I gave it 5 stars and it's one of my all time favorites - but something changed in this one and I’m only hoping the next book will get better (cause there’s another cliffhanger?? ugh 😔).

5/27/20:

One more daay! 🙌🏼 I’ve been in a reading slump recently so I hope this will get me out of it cause I’ve been anticipating the conclusion to Story and Grayson’s story and tbh I just miss reading. <3

***5 heartbreaking "Cinderella of Crowne Hall!!!" stars***

IT'S LIVEEEE!!!!

I died a thousand deaths while i was reading this book!!!!
Mary had squeezed my heart in the palm of her hand and she wasn't letting go!!!!
Even after I finished the book, I still feel this dark cloud upon me!!!!
Gray and Story's story was ingrained inside of me and i don't believe that I'll ever get over it!!!!
Guys, you're not ready for what is about to happen in here!!!!

"Fate is a thread; you can tie it a thousand knots but you'll always come to the same end."

Honestly, I was so scared to read this story after all the shits that took place in the first book.
I wasn't ready and still, i got a very deep breath or a thousand and I started this hard journey!!!
My heart was ready to jumb outside my chest in every turn, in every hard and emotional encounter between Story and Gray, in every obstacle that others were putting between them!!!!
It wasn't about fate, it was about bad choices that had the power to destroy and evil people that don't know shit about love and respect!!!!

I was sooo mad in here!!! Mad with many persons and many choices that our heroes had made...
I just needed redemption for these two persons that their only mistake was to love unconditionally and eternally a person that they weren't suppose to.
After that ending in the first book, i was dreadful of the future...
What that will mean for Gray??? What that will mean for Story???

"People like us don't get to choose our fates, Grayson."

Their intense connection were always there to guide their way to each other, even though some people were determined to keep them far away from this one in a lifetime love that they were sharing!!!
These two had too many things to face... Brutal, hurtful things and together they could be more strong to face it but fate is always getting in the way.
So what will happen after all???

Well, i was wondering...
Have you ever see Mary Catherine Gebhard on a photo or in a video???
Well, that sweet, cute face of hers could fool you, right???
This woman is evil and I mean it in a good way!!!!
Her mind works in very mysterious and perplexing ways and she is delivering the most remarkable stories!!!! Her writing signature is unique and captivating!!!
You want to run away from the pain that she can cause you with her words, but it's impossible to not dive in them headfirst as a volunteer!!!!
She breaks me, but she has the ability to put my pieces back together!!!
Can't wait to see what else she has is store for us next!!!!

"There is no such thing as a happily ever after..."

four words to describe the entirety of this book: “ COMPLETE AND UTTER HEARTBREAK ”

“I don’t care if you hate me forever. I’ll cut myself on you. I’ll bleed. You’re worth it, Story Hale.”

i can't believe i'm saying it, but this is even more angsty than the first book of Gray and Story.

“I can’t get you off my mind. When you’re here, you’re the only thing that exists. I’m bleeding everywhere. And you were the person I used to bleed with. What the hell am I supposed to do now? Snitch I…I’m bleeding alone too.”

The heart-wrenching pain, I loved every second. It's sooo good, I'm sobbing! 😭💔

“Grayson, you have to let go.”
His thumb dug. Bruising.
“I can’t let you go, Story. I’ve tried. I fail every time.”

Update of the Charlotte Front: yea, no, I don't feel bad for her anymore. Bitch is cray-cray.

Holy Freakin Hades!!! DEAD Y’ALL!💀 My heart, My Head, My Words. I’m a complete jumble of emotions and thoughts and there’s not a single bit of it I’m emotionally ready to articulate into words. Even if I could I wouldn’t. However it doesn’t matter because I’m just not ready!! The angst, the tears, the drama. Mary Catherine filled these pages with powerfully potent words tearing out my heart and soul with nothing short of Pure literary perfection!! 🙌🏻💀🙌🏻

This book picks right up where my shattered heart was left at the end of Stolen Soulmate. We find ourselves back in the illustrious would of the rich and privileged. The Crownes and DuLac families living out the legacies of time honored traditions, and right in the center you have Grayson, Story, Lottie, and West. The puzzle pieces that will bring it all together.

Y’all!! I’m telling you.. Fate was a dagger 🗡 to the hearts 💔 of those who dared to believe in it, and I believed!! This book has left me an absolute gutted wrecked mess. I am not okay! I don’t know how to recover from this book. It was so phenomenal and beyond everything I was hoping for it to be. It knocked me on my fanny folks. Like blew me away with the unexpected shock of being nothing I could have predicted. Which I absolutely loved!! Shock value is priceless! In the most amazingly fantastic ways. I literally felt every emotion under the sun. I have cried, and swooned. Boy I wanted to throttle so many characters along the way. I decided to chuck my sweet kindle across the room out of frustration. (Okay, so I didn’t actually do it, but I did sit it on the coffee table and sure gave it a good long side eye from the couch though)

I’m telling you this book will leave you spent in the best way ever. You will cry all the tears, your body heat will rise, you will root… well for whomever you root for. You will want more, because there will NEVER be enough. It is oh so angsty and hot and steamy. You will long for more and probably need a re-read almost immediately. Buy this book today!! But heed my warning, my friends. Prepare to be shooketh to the core and left with the most epic of book hangovers.

My Cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up :
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐⭐️-EVERYTHING!!This book is just that! Six Stars from me, because five just wouldn’t do this book justice! I’m still feeling this book weeks later.

⭐️ 5+ "Cruel Love" Stars ⭐️
If I thought Stolen Soulmate was cruel on my little heart, I had experienced nothing yet! In Forbidden Fate, Grayson and Story played with my feelings like never before! I'm speechless! The level of feels this story gave me was overwhelming! All the ups and downs between this doomed couple made me hurt so bad! Their impossible love story was more than ever captivating, yet soul crushing! I must be a masochist though, because I adored this book that is a top favorite read for me in 2020!

After the way the previous novel ended, I was team Story. Throughout my read though, I was losing my heart again to Gray. Yes, he makes controversial choices and acts maliciously with Story at times, but through the chapters in his point of view, it is easy to feel the love he has for her. Every despicable action is destroying him but it’s the only way to protect his girl. He’s sacrificing a lot to save her from a more vicious fate. I’ll admit that at times I felt he was too indulgent with Lottie’s conniving behavior toward Story, but at the same time, she’s also a pawn between the Crowne and du Lac families! This doesn’t mean that I’m a fan of Lottie though, because she realizes that Gray isn’t sharing the same feelings for her, but tries to steal him away anyway!

As much as I loved Story in the first novel, in this one she makes a lot of mistakes. She hurts Gray as much as he did, if not more. She’s really in a surviving mode and would do anything to protect herself from more ache. Even associate herself with the man who broke her trust years earlier, Weston du Lac. In spite of all her debatable decisions, she still have hope and can’t hate Gray completely!

Within all this hurricane of conflicting emotions, Gray and Story’s magnetic connection is still so palpable. As much as they want to keep away from each other to preserve their hearts, they can’t resist their singular pull. The intensity of their feelings between love and hate is just so powerful! Some bombs are dropped here and there to make this read a crazy journey of WTF!

With another shocking ending, I was left shattered. I need answers and a happily every after soon! Mary Catherine Gebhard used her gorgeous prose to ensnare me in this epic tale of illicit love! Forbidden Fate is a must read romance packed with all the feels!

"If our fate is forbidden, then I'll live as a fugitive."

Oh my poor heart! Just as Stolen Soulmate did before, this book put my heart through the ringer. Forbidden Fate is one of the most powerful, heartfelt and gripping romances that I've had the pleasure of reading. Every word, every sentence, every page, completely owned me. It wasn't just phenomenal. It was everything!

Grayson has become the master of breaking promises, and Story has had enough. She decides to take matters into her own hands, only to end up on the arm of another cruel prince. One that she cannot stand, but one that offers her a way out. A chance to start over, away from Crown Hall and from Grayson himself. Grayson may still own her heart, but she refuses to continue to stay and watch him with another. It's just too hard. Only fate seems to have other plans for her.

I have to say this author's writing is articulate and remarkable. Every single one of her words has such feeling and depth to them. This story flowed beautifully, with romance, angst and enough suspense that it was a satisfying read. I felt myself never wanting it to end. This forbidden romance is an absolute must read, but please be sure to read Stolen Soulmate first. Five stars for Grayson, Story and Forbidden Fate!

Overall Rating - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+

Don’t you just love books that make you feel so much? I’m not talking about the good feels, I’m talking about the heart pumping, mind thumping, why am I reading this, anxiety feels!! I didn’t think I’d survive it and at only 10% in I was ready to stop reading to save my heart, but I went on unable to put it down!

FF is NOT a standalone, please make sure you have read Stolen Soulmate before you dive into this one.

After the jaw-dropping ending of SS, I have never needed a book so much. I won’t go into much detail as I think going in blind and fully immersing yourself in the story is the only way to go but it is so much more than Gray and Story. There is lies, deceit, family ties, age-old traditions, angst for days and moments that will break you.

What became apparent for me during this book was how much I LOVED Gray! At the ending of SS, I don’t think I’ve ever hated a hero as much and there is a lot of a**hole hero’s out there! For me, the way he unravels, unable to control situations, his obsession over Story, the fear that eats away at him, between being good, being a man and being there for his family makes the man crazy! Thus making him absolutely hilarious and I laughed so many times at the things he said and done. I loved how Mary got totally into his head.

Story, the girl deserves it all after everything she is put through and I loved the stronger character she became.

Gray and Story don’t have it easy, so be warned, they both have strong morals, trying to be good and not failing themselves. And I won’t go into how many times I wanted to bang their heads together.

As I said at the beginning, this book made me feels so much and took me out of the real world and planted me firmly in Crowne Point (where I want to stay!). Stolen Soulmate was my top read of 2020 but this book has come right in and toppled it off the top spot and believe me when I say you don’t want to miss Gray and Story. Mary holds nothing back giving us a story we won’t forget. A MUST MUST MUST read!
