Our second set of Alias 2021 Deep Dive videos gives you a chance to experience our Enhanced History Visualizer tool and explore the connections now possible through our New Dynamo features. These modern updates to Alias 2021 are geared to optimize your outcomes. They also enhance your connectivity: data moves more effortlessly through your workflow and across Alias products.

Here’s a quick overview of what’s available to you:

Video 5           Experience: the expanded History Visualizer that was originally added in Alias 2002.2. This expansion provides a graphic visualization of your work flow, giving you deeper insights into its history. This release incorporates the ability to replace the input geometry of history-based tools, like the Curves and Surfaces that drive other commands in Alias. This feature automatically rebuilds to the latest input geometry, revealing your data in a new and optimal way.

Video 6           Explore: the new Dynamo tools. These new sample files include a Subdivision Body Side Creation Tool, which allows you to quickly and easily create the wheel arches and body side of a vehicle by modifying three simple curves. Also included is a new Import feature. It places Dynamo scripts directly in their customizable shelf for easy access. These scripts can also be shared by placing them in a network or common file location. And finally, we’ve added the ability to Export Subds from Alias in a t-spline (.tss) format. This format lets you transfer Alias Subd models to Speedform and maintain crease information.

In case you haven’t had the chance to explore it, Dynamo represents a modern concept for developing designs. The Dynamo process is referred to as computational design, a design modeling substantially different from NURBS modeling or Subdivision surface modeling in Alias. Dynamo’s node-based modeling approach generates different designs by adjusting various input settings.

We’re especially excited about this connection between Alias (the classic design tool) and Dynamo (the new, upcoming design tool). Dynamo allows you and your designers to push design exploration by using automation to explore designs that were previously not possible.
