Q&A
First job? At 16 I started clearing plates and cleaning tables as a busboy at a local restaurant.
What’s your leadership style? I try to embody the role of a coach, allowing room for failure while striving for excellence. It’s important to build on strengths and promote development of new skills, but at the end of the day it’s a team game.
Biggest win for you and your work team so far this year? In 2023, we implemented transformative hospitality and health care technology management programs that are unique to the industry. Both programs take people, process and technology to the next level; we are excited to be able to expand this level of service to hospitals and health systems across the country.
And the biggest challenge right now? Health care’s lack of standard supply chain language. We want our own UPCs like retail.
Next major personal goal? Being a good father and husband as we transition into our empty-nester phase.
Hobbies? I am in a praise band as a drummer for All Church in Blue Ash. I spend a lot of time on sidelines and courtsides cheering on my very active kids in sports during the school year. Our family enjoys being outdoors – fishing and boating. My wife and I love hosting at our house, whether that be a couple’s small group, Young Life gatherings or just a place to stay when times get tough.
Favorite weekend routine? A fulfilling Saturday of watching my kids play sports and waking up Sunday to drum in our praise band.
Who inspires you and why? Jesus is my main inspiration. Without him, I have trouble making sense of the blessings I’ve been handed. Through the Holy Spirit, I’m navigated by his strength and guidance.
One book you recommend? “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl.
Best advice for a new hire? It’s better to be waved off than to be waved on. Don’t fear failure.
Favorite cause or charity? I support anything that brings awareness to suicide prevention and childhood cancer. Both causes are annually recognized in September.
If you had to pick a new career, what would it be? I like to think I would be a career counselor, something that helps people find their way in life.
Little-known fact about yourself? I am fascinated with how the mind works, how creative ideas come together and how certain ideas change history. I have such a curiosity toward innovators such as Walt Disney and Ben Franklin – how their ideas transposed time and helped shape culture and government in the U.S.
Bio- Career path: Led retail supply chain operations before joining Baptist Health System to bring those methodolies into health care. Moved to Tenet Healthcare before joining Mercy Health, which later merged with Bon Secours. Launched its subsidiary Advantus Health Partners.
