Lost & Found Animals

Norman Animal Welfare rescues thousands of animals each year through stray recoveries and owner surrenders.

All stray animals are held for five business days if the animal has identification and at least three business days if it does not have any identification. Norman Animal Welfare makes every effort to reunite owners with found pets who have current identification. Animals that remain unclaimed following the hold period will be evaluated and placed in the adoption program. Norman Animal Welfare does not limit the amount of time that animals remain in our adoption program.

Residents who identify a stray animal that remains at large or appears dangerous can report the location of the animal by calling 405-321-1444. A Norman Animal Welfare Officer will respond to the area.
