Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must: · Have a valid Bachelor’s degree. · Possess and maintain a valid Driver License. · Be able to work at least one evening per week. · Have considerable technical experience in economic development or related fields. · Have considerable experience in program coordination, oversight, and implementation. · Be able to demonstrate excellent writing and communication skills. · Have considerable computer expertise, including but not limited to the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access). Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants: · Have a valid Master's Degree. · Have prior work experience in economic and/or community development or experience with associations or entrepreneurial support organizations as applied to business startup and assistance, expansion and retention, development, urban planning/redevelopment, and/or project management. · Have experience and comfort in community relations outreach, communications, coalition building and relationship development. · Have considerable knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques used to maintain successful economic development, opportunity creation and facilitation of programs. · Are able to effectively interpret and apply regulations and principles regarding economic development and business assistance. · Are able to competently maintain comprehensive records of economic development activities and prepare related reports and correspondence. · Have knowledge of federal, state and local laws and private sector influences that affect small business and economic development. · Have expertise with marketing and communications related work. · Have knowledge of using CRM database software and online grant management software. |
