This statewide event will support communities that are developing and implementing collaborative approaches to Building Self-Healing Communities to create a More Resilient Minnesota.
Event Agenda:
Wednesday, June 2nd
9:15 – 9:45 a.m. Gathering Welcome and Orientation
10:00 a.m. – noon 7 Collaborative Regions - Regional Discussions
Collaborative Coordinators and FamilyWise Regional Staff will facilitate discussions focused on expanding partnerships, sharing resources, and learning about promising practices that support children, youth, and families.
12:15 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Special Session for Children's Mental Health and Family Services Collaborative Coordinators
Thursday, June 3rd
Breakout sessions will be dedicated to sharing promising practices and lessons learned about community initiatives to strengthen efforts among Collaborative, tribal, and other community partners across the state.
9:15 – 10:30 a.m. Breakout Session 1 (three options)
- Equity Centered Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) for Adults and Youth
- Bootstrap Storytelling: How to Amplify Community Voices to Create Change
- 2019 Minnesota Student Survey: Adversity and Protective Factors Data – Broadening the Understanding of the Student Experience
10:45 a.m. – noon Breakout Session 2 (three options)
- From Prediction to Awareness to Mindfulness: Shifting into the Power of the Present Moment
- Using Local Data to Drive Community Resilience Planning
- Adaptations and Reintegration in Schools During the Dual Pandemic of Racism & COVID-19
12:15 – 12:45 p.m. Mindfulness Practice
1:00 – 2:30 p.m. KEYNOTE: Understanding and Breaking Legacies of Stress facilitated by Dr. Brian Dias - national scholar and lead author of the “Cherry Blossom Study”.
Primary Audience:
Participants are encouraged to attend who are involved or want to be involved in addressing the root causes of childhood adversity. This can include Collaborative, Tribal, and other community partners, such as health, law enforcement, education, social services, parents, businesses, and nonprofit service organizations. Collaborative Coordinators and active Minnesota ACE Interface Trainers/Presenters are encouraged to attend.

Social Work CEUs:
