American prosperity of North Carolina Partnered with the BP gas station on 2620 phoenix drive here in Greensboro to offer gas for just $2.38. Deputy State director Tyler Voigt said inflation is having a huge impact on everyone.

I’ve talked to North Carolinians every day who are seeing the impact of inflation, the impact of gas prices, housing prices, I mean dog food, baby food, diapers, everything is costing us more.

Madeline Hardy commute from Burlington to Greensboro every day, she told ABC 45 the commute is taking a huge toll on her wallet

“The gas has really been stressful as far as having to put so much into gas now I’m spending so much money. It used to cost me about $40-$45, now it’s like $60,” Hardy said.

To give those in the area a break from inflated gas prices, American Prosperity dropped the gas prices to $2.38 according to Voigt. That's how much gas cost across the united states during Biden’s inauguration day.

“The gas prices have been a year and a half but this has been a while in the making, politicians keep spending money that we don't have and we need to work to change this thing,” Voigt said

Due to the high gas prices, Hardy said she can no longer do the things she used to do.

“It has gotten so bad, I’m straight home and from work. Usually, I could go visit a couple of people and now I cant do all the driving because I don’t want to use up all of my gas for work,” Hardy said.

Hardy roughly spends $120 a week for gas, Voigt said that’s the reason why they’re holding this event.

“It’s crazy the response, people are so thankful that we’re doing this, like you said that’s maybe a choice they won’t have to make between gas and groceries,” Voigt said.

The next gas event is tomorrow in Burlington and you can catch them in Wilmington on Friday.
