It seems their specialty is specifically breakfast. I wouldn't recommend getting lunch items. I got the Caprese Sandwich and asked for chicken on it. When I got my meal the chicken was forgotten. They took it back to the kitchen and about two minutes later came back with dry slices of chicken added to the sandwich. I will say the server noticed immediately the missing chicken so I'll give probs for that, but still not the best meal and not worth the $25 I had to pay for it. Should have gotten breakfast instead :(
Still a good place for breakfast I don't want to discredit that. Their homemade pop tarts are worth the visit.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Richard G.Downtown, Bakersfield, CA01Mar 21, 2024
Food was great! I had French toast. The waiter was on top of it. My friend had some great pancakes.

Went on a lazy Saturday for brunch and sat outside overlooking all the fun downtown. Parked on the street. Service was quick and helpful. The food is consistently delicious. Always get a pop tart for starters. We tried a brown sugar/cinnamon (all time favorite) and Meyer lemon and blueberry (excellent).
Ordered Biscuits and gravy with hash browns. I'm allergic to eggs and they kindly substituted with avocado for me. Super appetizing!! Wanted to keep eating but couldn't finish. Excellent gravy!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - John M.Los Angeles, CA602307231Apr 13, 2024
During my recent jaunt to Palm Springs, I stumbled upon Wilma and Frieda's for breakfast and was pleasantly taken aback by the delightful experience.
Convenient parking in the rear of the shopping complex and the restaurant's upstairs location lent an additional touch of charm.
Opting for a straightforward breakfast of cold brew and the scramble build-your-own, I found myself impressed by the flawlessly cooked scrambled eggs complemented by my choice of toppings - ham, tomato, onion, and bell pepper. The biscuit served alongside was a delightful touch, elevating the overall satisfaction of the meal.
Wilma and Frieda's strikes an ideal balance between delectable fare and attentive service, making it a standout choice for breakfast in Palm Springs. For those seeking delicious food coupled with a pleasant dining atmosphere, this spot earns my hearty recommendation.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 12, 2024
I found out about this restaurant through some friends, and it's gained popularity on social media! So, find out if it is worth the stop through this review!
Expect to wait! I was with a group of 7 and we had to wait approximately 40 minutes for a table! It wasn't too bad of a wait, since there are plenty of stores to window shop at while you wait, but when we were seated the restaurant was not busy at all! Made me question the wait! Anyway, the restaurant is cute! There are old vintage record players and memorabilia from the 80s that give it a diner feel, and there's also balcony seating with French doors that add to the aesthetic.
I ordered Mark's Short Rib Eggs Benedict, and it was good! The short rib was cooked so that it was tender, and it melted in your mouth. The eggs were great and even though the English muffin was a little harder, with the entire combination it worked out nicely. We also had an order of the chilaquiles, but it was way too sour to enjoy. So, the staff was kind enough to take it off our tab and provide us with a different dish. I thought that was great, since many restaurants do not do that anymore!
Overall, this wasn't a standout, but it was a great place to eat at, if you can't decide where to go! They have a vast selection of dishes and drinks to choose from. Maybe it'll be worth it to you!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 8, 2024
I saw Wilma & Frieda's on an episode of Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives...so I had to try it while I was in town. Watching the process of how W&F makes their housemade short ribs made my mouth water, and me want to take the 2 hour drive from San Diego...
$21 Short Rib Melt Sandwich...Here it was! The short rib sandwich I saw on TV was now in my hands...and it was good. Just good. Not great. The flavors were good, the short rib was flavorful and tasty, but I wish there was more of it. Came with some nice crispy tots.
$7 Blueberry Breakfast Tart...W&F's housemade "Pop Tart" pastry was a cute, whimsical, sweet, and lovely dessert pastry.
Good food, not great, and bit pricy for the portion and quality. Maybe it was overhyped in my brain from the TV show...never meet your heroes?Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 78117155Apr 25, 2024
During my bachelorette weekend, we dined at Wilma and Frida's on a Saturday around noon. Despite a brief 30-minute wait, we were seated in a quieter area towards the back, likely due to our large party size. While the ambiance was nothing remarkable, our food arrived promptly, although it was generally average. We did encounter an issue with a Mexican dish lacking flavor, but the staff handled the situation efficiently. Some members of our group were left underwhelmed by the overall dining experience. However, the highlight was undeniably the poptart, which was generously sized and enjoyed by all eight of us.

I really enjoyed brunch here. It definitely depends what you order. Mark's short rib Benedict was really good. Nice flavor to the meat which was spiced just right. The eggs were perfect. I also loved the sautéed potatoes and peppers. Very satisfying meal. I paired it with a pop tart and it gave me a delicious sweet and savory meal. The pop tart was piping hot and sweet and delicious. Coffee and the balcony view were very pleasant. On a 2nd trip I tried the biscuits and gravy and I didn't like it as much. A little too carby for my taste. I think I would try the meat loaf and eggs dish next time. I also had the lemon blueberry pop tart (sweet hot and delicious) and wife had the French toast which was custardy. She didn't like it much but I enjoyed it. In fairness hers was takeout so may have been better if eaten there.
All in all a lovely brunch experience and a very popular place. Prepare for a wait or get there a bit earlier to hopefully miss the wait.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - 15317139Mar 30, 2024Updated review
Another good breakfast. I had my favorite Meany, eggs and fat sausage patty with fresh fruit and monster biscuit. Other than the biscuit being took temp, it was delicious.
My husband wasn't as happy. His Short Rib Scramble was not very flavorful, and the English muffin was dense. Service was ok, food took a long time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 5, 2023Previous reviewThey knocked it out of the park again! I again had the Meany - over easy eggs with sausage patty and FABULOUS huge biscuit! One choice for a side instead of potatoes was fresh fruit, and it was a considered selection of ripe tasty fruit. None left behind. Husband had the short ribs scramble, which he oohed and aahed over.
Apr 7, 2022Previous reviewLovely outside dining, good service. I had the Meany, perfectly cooked eggs over easy with yummy sausage patty, side of fruit, and HUGE delicious biscuit! No need for butter on this biscuit! Good jam, and I had to make myself not finish it.
Husband had the pork chili verde omelette, and though it was perfectly cooked as he requested, soft and fluffy, there was not enough filling for the amount of egg, and the pork was bland, not enough salsa. Good toast. - 553211420Apr 10, 2024
Came here on Easter. Not sure if any other day, they open their waitlist but that Sunday it was not available. Wait time was quoted for 45-minutes and it took just that long. Restaurant was packed, with very little space. Menu was a bit limited to me, but food was great. I will note that the service here was great. We were constantly checked on and our server was very kind.
