Tony's Italian Delicatessen
#1 2017 yelps Top 100 places to eat‼‼
So back in 2017 when they were crowned #1 so tried them when I was a director Conroe's Incredible Pizza Company my boss then went and got all the managers sandwhiches so that was the last time I had them so I really couldn't remember the taste but I'm so glad I came back.
I think by now if y'all follow me y'all know my all time fave Deli sandwich is a "Rueben" and it's so hard to find a good one tbh but mannnn let me tell y'all what...
Minnelli Rueben : 9.9/10 named after actress Liza Minnelli(loved her in muppets take manhattan lol).. By far the best Rueben I've had since I moved from the Mid west (105 cafe) in Conroe has a good one as well but nothing compares to this at all tender juicy Corn beef with Swiss cheese and since I was a kid I always get extra Russian dressing it's a chefs kiss
Overall: starting this sandwich journey with a bang it's going to be really hard to find another spot better than this. Also I've noticed everywhere Otto's Craft Sodas are sold the food is always Top-TierHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 21, 2023
I have had Tony's bookmarked for years now after it won best restaurant in the US from Yelp several years ago. I rarely get up this way and when I did had other plans but last Saturday I finally made it for lunch.
I found the restaurant in an old and small strip center with limited parking. Inside it's a counter service eatery with attractive decor and two dining areas. One area is as you enter that is brightly lit and decorative and the other room dimly lit which is where the self serve soft drink and tea area is located.
I decided to go against the norm here and not order a traditional meat sandwich but instead ask for the DiCaprio (all of the sando's here have Italian celebrity names) for $12. I added a bag of Zapp's chips for another $2 and a soft drink. With tax the entire meal was $16 and change.
The DiCaprio is Tony's chicken salad sandwich with spring mix, bacon, American cheese, marinated Roma tomatoes mayo and sub oil on crunchy Italian bread. Mine was ready in 5 minutes after ordering and it was huge. Like big enough for 2 people to eat and be satisfied. Its size was impressive and absolutely delicious taste wise. I love a good chicken salad sandwich and this was one of them. The chicken salad was creamy and flavorful with grapes, nuts and a very smooth taste. With the other additives every bite was a pleasure to eat. While the oh so important bread is called crunchy Italian it's actually very fresh and soft. It was quality as was everything in that sandwich. Leonardo would be proud to have this named after him. During the meal, I sat in the dimly lit area and also enjoyed the good Italian music being played.
The sandwich was excellent in taste and its size and cost represented very good value. I would very much like to return but this location is difficult for me. Going all of the way to Conroe and then it's a full 10 minute drive off of I-45 but for those that live closer they are the lucky ones. I'm not sure about this deserving to be the #1 restaurant in the US but it is an excellent Italian sandwich shop.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 1 - A Keith H.Humble, TX12844960Apr 20, 2024
I live in HKA, Humble Kingwood & Atascocita. It's a bit of a drive to Tony's for me, and yet it's my go to for an Italian deli sandwich. I like them hot or cold, oh yes I will all the same. Worth the drive, If it's a nice day get it to go and have a picnic at the park across and just down 105.

This is a legit hole in the wall mom and pop sandwich joint. From the outside, it doesn't look like much and on the inside, it looks like a very fast casual spot. Boy did they exceed expectations on the portion and flavors on their sandwiches. We got the Sinatra (cold cut) and Lucky Luciano (hot sandwich). The bread tasted fresh and potentially homemade. Same can be said for the mozzarella balls; tasted fresh and had good mouth feel. The ingredients tasted fresh and the toppings on there fit a solid flavor profile even for someone that doesn't really like Italian sandwiches. I've heard that their portions were even bigger when they first opened but they downsized a bit due to inflation; even then, it's still a solid size.
If they opened one in the Heights, they could open for 4 hours a day and sell out. This is the type of hole in the wall spots that Guy Fieri should film.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 2Business owner information

Tony! Toni! Tone! -Whatever You Want
Is the song that comes to mind when I pull up to Tony's because you can order Whatever you want and it's all good !
Tony's Italian Delicatessen is located in Conroe across the street from Lake conroe.
This has been a go to spot any and everytime I'm in Conroe because Consistency is key and Tony's has that key ! Customer service is always superb!
I ordered the " Danza" which consists of Half Pastrami and Half Corned Beef with the additions of deli mustard, provolone cheese, Swiss cheese & Sub Oil on a CRUSTY ITALIAN Bread.
This sub gets you singing! Go there and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Tony's Delicatessen is definitely a delicacy!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 3, 2024Updated review
Best sandwiches in Montgomery county, and it's probably the worst kept secret because everybody knows that. You really can't be disappointed at Tony's, I love the chicken parm sandwich and the meatball subs, you really can't lose. I only wish they were open later. I'd gladly eat here at my dinner time (8pm-9pm)

Located in a small lot next to a gas station, this is probably the BEST sandwich shop I've been to in Texas, a true mom and pop hidden gem. Ordered the Lucky Luciano (hot) and F. Sinatra (cold). While the lucky Luciano was full of the malty, cheesy and tomatoey goodness, the Sinatra stole the show for the day. The combination of fresh mozzarella balls, the salami, the marinated tomato and basil pesto was refreshing and amazing! The portion was huge and ingredients were fresh. This place reminds me a lot of authentic Italian sandwich shops in NYC. I would be at this place all the time if they ever open another location in the loop!
