One of the only good bars on 25th. Good place to grab a proper pint of Guiness! The food is outstanding. Highly recommend the steak salad and the buffalo wings. I have not had a bad meal. You can order anything from the menu and not go wrong.

Came here on a recent weeknight during an outing in the Ohio City district. We were looking for some basic pub grub and a spot for grabbing a beer and this place checked those marks for us.
We settled in to a low-top table and the bar server came over for both drink and food orders. Beers started flowing (Yay! They had Smithwicks on tap!) and grub orders headed to the kitchen. Two of us ordered their fish-n-chips...how could you not, in an Irish pub style bar...and the third a Reuben sandwich.
My basket of fish-n-chips were plump, juicy and (beyond) piping hot but unfortunately the batter lacked flavor. I did like their tartar sauce because it included dill, even if it was on the thin side from a consistency perspective. The fresh cut fries were seasoned well and semi-crispy. Their cole slaw was rather tasteless and rough chop cut, so I did not care for it all that much.
All in all, a very decent pub style meal with enough menu options to choose from and a reasonable offering of on-tap beers to choose from.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - David N.Hallsville, MO314257Apr 1, 2024
Overall, I had a good experience. The building is cozy and clean. The staff was very friendly and upbeat. My corned beef sandwich was decent, but the bread was a bit on the dry side and beef was as well. The fries were excellent and I could have eaten more of them. I would definitely go back.

Was looking for dinner on Saturday after work and before a CIM concert and downtown was crazy with the Guardians playoff game so I figured on grabbing something in Ohio City; of course the parking was crazy but I found street parking a couple of blocks off the main drag and walked to the Old Angle Tavern which I had been meaning to try. Walking in I was surprised since I was expecting an older bar, instead it was a clean modern space with a bar on the inside wall and some tables and booths. I was seated at the bar and ordered off the menu using the QR code.
The menu is compact and focused, but there was fish and chips so I was happy. The food came up very quickly, hot and fresh. Two nice sized fillets of cod with a nice batter crust, a large portion of fries and a small cup of slaw. The fish was fresh and mild, well cooked, the fries and slaw were both good if nothing special. There were a couple of nice touches that helped to elevate the meal; the fish was topped with some coarse sea salt that gave a nice flavor pop and the ketchup was made in house with some little chunks of tomatoes. Overall a very nice fish and chips.
I do have to shout out the staff that night; they were clearly short handed and business was picking up, yet they kept hustling to keep up and had a great attitude. Nice to see and much appreciated.
The Old Angle Tavern is a great place to grab a drink and/or some good food. Great location in the middle of W.25th Street in Ohio City. Not as high profile as some of the nearby places, but nothing wrong with a well done classic.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Nov 22, 2023
Stopped here for a date night. Such a cozy little place. I love the fireplace and somehow the combo of 1960's Naugahyde and faux medieval stonework is great. Basically it's an Irish Pub in atmosphere and menu. I had the lamb stew which was hearty and tasty. Big chunks of stew meat with all the veggies and a savory gravy. Served with a baguette for soaking up all that delicious gravy. Staff was so friendly and attentive. Street parking or there is the Market lot across the street. Seemed like they get a regular crowd later in the evening. Great meeting up kind of vibe.

Just arrived in town with five girlfriends for girls weekend and this was our first stop ! Came across the nicest bartender we have met in a very long time, Matt is the bomb and we appreciated his hospitality. He drinks and beers are amazing and very reasonably priced !

Awesome Irish pub vibes going on, we weren't sure if the food and service were going to be able to live up. The food 100% matched the vibe and decor of the pub. We had the wings and corn beef sandwich, which were both amazing. The service was top notch, especially since we were visiting with a young child. Thank you to the entire staff for making our experience enjoyable.

Went back like I said I would.
Service was awesome. I cease there for lunch.
This time I went for the Sheppard Pie.
I now have a go to comfort food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 26, 2022Previous reviewI stopped here due to a recommendation.
I'm glad I listened.
My rework is based of the Lamb Stew and service.
We stopped in during the afternoon. Two people serving, including bartending. They were flying around everywhere. Good atmosphere, they were fun , so it added to a great lunch.
Awesome stew! I was only able to finish half of it. I got a complimentary Baguette with my box which I asked for, at no penny pinching amount. In the process, getting the coveted 5 star review.
Place was pretty clean also.
I will be back. - Oct 28, 2021
Being a Monday, it was difficult to find an open bar in this area. We waited a few minutes for this place to open (I think it was 4:00). My boyfriend wanted Guiness on draft, and this Irish bar was just what we were looking for.
The bartender (she has been there for 20 years) was personable and we enjoyed the 80s music with accompanying videos on one screen.
I was hungry, and ordered the great Craig veggie grilled sandwich (I asked for added pesto) that came with fries that had a fantastic seasoning. Our bartender told us it was Old Bay. I would totally order this plate again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
