Book this experience!!! We spontaneously stopped here while driving through Johnson City and were thoroughly happy with our experience!! It was a fun little safari drive-thru for such a reasonable price (18.95 plus tax)! We opted for the guided tour, which we enjoyed because they were able to drive off the beaten path for a little for a closer look at the animals. You can also drive through in your own car though to go at your own pace! We enjoyed getting to see and feed a variety of animals throughout including camels, zebras, elk/deer, sheep, bison, etc. The drive through took around an hour and we felt we had decent time at each stop to see and feed the animals! We also loved that our tour guide helped explain the history and education of the animals!
In addition, they also have a petting zoo, giraffe feeding for an extra $5, bathrooms/ hand-washing station, and a gift shop with a few small snacks. Overall, we really enjoyed our time and would definitely come back/recommend to others!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Olivia was so sweet and knowledgeable for her young age. We could tell she has passion for what she does. I wish more people could leave some tip, I bet they don't get paid enough nowadays. We saved 15% with Yelp check in, thank you Yelp! Ask if you pay cash you save 3%. They have good toys in their gift shop. The experience was good for what we expected from Safari in Texas. It was more fun for kids, I was too busy taking care of them lol
Camels were pretty tame, as well as majority of others. It was pretty hot that day, I was hoping it would be cooler, but ended up not. Suggestion is to go on a cooler day for sure. Big basket of food is definitely worth getting, it goes pretty fast and I noticed everyone on the trailer run out of food before our last stop. Last group of animals did not get anything, unfortunately.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Everything here was amazing, we did the guided tour which I recommend because you get to ride on a trailer and the driver goes off road so you can get a closer look at the animals.
Also the animals actually come up to you and are interested in the food.

Today was our second time experiencing this zoo and it was still great! We opted for the guided tour the second time around after our car took a few hits the first time. Madysann was our tour guide and she was very sweet and informative throughout the ride. 10/10. Definitely recommend coming here!

This was our first time on Safari and definitely not our last!;) I recommend the guided tour in open air tractor trailer! There was a reasonable 15 minute wait before our tractor was ready, which was perfect timing to get in our water and bathroom breaks. If you're feeding the animals, chances are you'll get covered in slobber so dress accordingly!;)

What a great safari out west! We loved this one better than the one in NB! Make sure you book tickets online and get there when they open.
We did the drive through as It was too cold out to do the guided tour. Since we had no cars behind us we took our time driving through and were greeted by a ploethra of animals that swarm your car! watch out for the ostrich and emus that will peck!
Drive up and check in a the gift shop where you can pick up animal feed. After you can also check out their petting zoo to feed goats. Great way to kill a couple of hours !
Caution, don't drive the new whip! Them antlers do scratch!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I've been here multiple times over the yrs with my kids. I think it's a Texas Gem (in Johnson City). It's 1 hr north of San Antonio and if your looking for things to do albeit 1 hr from S.A. then it's worth it. Feeding the animals is fun but expect some dust and lotsa animal slobber. The trip is less than 1 hr.
There are other drive thru zoos here and there but these guys are open almost all yr round which is convenient.
They now offer drive through in your own car but on the trailer everyone can feed and pet most animals that approach.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

OMG!!! This was a spur of the moment thing for us! Passed this place on my way home from and trip and had to google it. We Immediately booked a drive through safari tour and turned the car around. When we arrived the staff were incredibly friendly and feeding some Joeys in the gift shop. Check in was smooth and easy! We were even able to hold the Joeys
Going through the drive through experience was one of a kind! The animals were so sweet and approachable. Truly a self guided experience like no other!! I can't stress that enough. The amount of animals and different species was astounding. The petting zoos were full and fun
I would absolutely make the drive from Tyler just to take my daughter here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
