This local coffee shop in Austin offers both whole bean and ground options. Tucked away on the east side of downtown, it's a charming little spot. I stopped by to pick up a new bag of whole beans for home brewing. They have a wide selection to choose from, and the staff was helpful in answering any questions I had.
I grabbed a bag of whole beans for home, and definitely had a fresh and flavorful taste when I brewed it. While waiting for my beans to be bagged, I decided to indulge in a coffee. Opting for an espresso drink, I enjoyed its robust flavor and potent caffeine kick.
Parking can be a bit of a challenge due to the small lot, especially during busy times. Be prepared to find street parking if needed.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 7, 2023Updated review
I have tried all these blends and have to say all are excellent in their own special way. I have not found one that I enjoy more over the others. I typically order a 5lb bag through the website and have it mailed to my home. Service is always fast, efficient and timely. I'm a big fan and love all the flavors. I'm still exploring to find my favorite. As of now the Texas Blends have been repeat purchases.
If you go to the the 4th street store expect great customer service. Staff is always happy to discuss their favorite beans and offer suggestions for you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 24, 2022Previous reviewToday was my first time to visit. I am new to drinking coffee black, no creamer or anything. I was hesitant to ask for advice and am glad I did! The staff are super friendly to all their customers. I wish I could remember who helped me, she was AWESOME! I received wonderful information on all they offer. I also was able to taste the 3 daily drip brews and the cold brew. I bought 1 pound of Fresh Pick blend. I asked her for a recommendation to try a South American bean and went with Peru. I am looking forward to a French press of these beans. I will be back despite the distance from Hutto to downtown east Austin. All the coffee I tasted was delicious. You will find your favorite, just ask for guidance and the staff jump to assist!

I love this place so much!! I've been wanting to come here for YEARS, but timing never worked out and when I could they were closed. I finally was able to and boy am I glad I did. They have their own small lot for parking. We came in for coffee drinks, but left with 4 amazing bags of coffee beans/grounds! The store also smells heavenly. We weren't sure what bags to get, so we got some from the recommendation of the employees and it was such a treat. I can't wait to come back next time I'm in Austin. Coffee lovers unite!

This is the best source of coffee beans in Texas and the USA. The staff is excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. Can't wait to go back to Austin.

I get a free coffee at another place nearby but still frequent Texas Coffee Traders for three reasons;
1. My very strong dog pulls me there on our walks because he gets the best treats from them (and they know him by name, not sure they even know mine!) and they love him
2. Toffee nut cold brew. I'm sure it's just a syrup, but a flavor I haven't come across anywhere else and I don't need to add any other sugar to it, just 2 Mississippis of half and half.
3. The walk up window is still there and makes it supremely easy to grab a coffee with a dog in tow.
Bonus reason: Their prices. Dirt cheap compared to everywhere else.

Annnnnnnnnddddddd... I found a gallon of cold brew for only $25 ($5 cheaper than my original cheapest find elsewhere!).
Annnndddddd... not sure why, but they gave me a complimentary cup of cold brew with my order.

Beyond that, there's a wall of beans in basic containers, but their contents are anything basic. There's also a barista station and a few food items if you plan to enjoy your selection out on their covered patio of mismatched bistro sets.
In addition to beans for sale and being a regular coffee shop, they've got coffee accoutrement galore, as in, all the gadgets that at home brewers could need or want. There's also a million staff on hand to help you find whatever it is you're looking for or just gab about all things coffee.
My first visit I went strictly to get beans as a gift (cinnamon roll and Texas pecan) and on that first visit, I confirmed a rumor I heard that if you bring in any 32 oz growler (doesn't have to be their own), you can have it filled with their cold brew for only $5. FIVE DOLLARS! Basically a whole week's worth of cold brew for the price of one anywhere else!

I love their apple crumble tea. It tastes like Christmas to me. Great product and price per ounce.

The best coffee shop in Austin! You MUST try their latte, so creamy and smooth. They have a convenient walk up window but I recommend going inside so you can see all of the cool coffee making supplies they carry!

Great local coffee shop on 4th Street just a little east of Interstate 35. Friendly staff and wonderful coffee - nothing burnt here. A few tables to sit outside. Do yourself a favor and check them out for a fantastic espresso or latte, and then take a bag of beans home with you - you will be glad that you did, and so will your taste buds.
A related company, Coffee Techs, repairs espresso machines - the pump went out on mine + a few other minor issues. I dropped my machine off and because of the backlog should hear back in 4-6 weeks - stay tuned.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Melissa S.River Oaks, Houston, TX01313Nov 4, 2023
Literally the Earl Gray tea is best tea I've ever had. They supply to restaurants and have a store where you can purchase. People are so nice!
