What a great place to eat with such a great cause!

This was my third time eating at taste community. If you did not know the story of this spot you would still rate 5 stars! We have always been greeted and treated so kindly. There are always folks training but they do such a great job.

For this stop we had the breakfast sandy. The potatoes were amazing! So crunchy and the sandwich was delicious I would eat every day if I could. They always have a diverse menu with very interesting things to select prepared to perfection.

I would recommend to anyone to check this place out and learn the story behind it.

Tip- they have nice outdoor seating if the weather is good.

such a wonderful concept here - i love that money is not the main focus, but building their community and giving back.

we ordered their ricotta citrus toast (highly recommended), sunrise special and yogurt parfaits.

      ricotta citrus toast 5/5
what a unique way of having toast and fruits for breakfast! i would honestly never order this in my life, anywhere in the world. our wonderful server mary highly recommended us this dish & its the best dang thing ive ever had for breakfast! its got fresh sliced oranges and grapefruite (bruleed, omg!) with pomogranite seeds and crushed pistachios! must try!!

sunrise breakfast 5/5 - 2 eggs (any style) with fresh bacon and their famous housecrispy potatoes!

what a heart warming experience knowing our money is going far beyond just paying the bill. the concept here is helping those in need with culinary schooling, tuition, experience, community service & more! there is no real "bill" or tipping - instead, donations are accepted with gratuity kept in mind for the donation amount as well.

we know this place will continue to thrive and grow - theyre in the works of opening a location in arlington, texas!

The place, the menu, the food, the staff, and the service were all EXCELLENT! I love that this place is intentional not only with their mission but also with their execution. We stopped in for lunch and got a turkey sandwich & smoked salmon Benedict. Both were flavorful, fresh, and plated well. If you want a place that fills both your belly & your heart, this is the place to be!

Came here a few months ago with a friend - I ordered the Lamb Kofta Kabob and they got the Seafood Fideo.

Absolutely loved the dish I ordered - it comes with ground lamb and beef seasoned with middle eastern spices and pickled spring vegetables. It's served with white bean hummus and toasted pita. Everything tasted so fresh!

My friend really enjoyed their meal too. The Seafood Fideo has shrimp and mussels simmered with Spanish spices, fresh peas, and vermicelli noodles topped with garlic aioli and garden herbs. It's served with lemon. They said the pasta was light, flavorful, and that the shrimp and mussels paired real well with the pasta.

Taste is a nonprofit restaurant with a pay-what-you-can concept. On their receipts, you won't see a charge for what you ordered. Instead, you write in your total donation amount. They also don't accept tips, but ask that you consider the tip amount in your donation.

What an amazing concept! My husband and I decided to stop by in our way to Fort Worth and I'm so happy we did. Taste Community Restaurant is a non-profit that serves the community through volunteer hours, meals, financial and cooking classes and mental health support. All of the servers are volunteers and cooks are looking to better their skills. After your meal, you can pay what you afford or more!

Overall, the food and service was fantastic, I thought the potato soup, lamb kabobs and rice bowls had great flavor. Everything tasted fresh and I wasn't overly stuff. Will definitely come back to continue to support this cause!

Food going out looked great, however wait was a bit long, I guess they need reservations but will take walk ins. I guess one of the things that really came to
My attention, was the idea of a non-profit and community driven restaurant, looks clean but here's kind of the idea of the review. A lot of the crowd appeared to be homeless and came off as a soup kitchen... everyone was nice but it felt a bit uncomfortable there, like I was out of place. After some guy came in with a sleeping bag and two squirt guns, leaving his trash outside, that's when I went with my gut and left. If you're okay with that type of environment and make it to try the food, it seems as if the food was great. I base my reviews on; ambience, food and service. I will one day return and possibly change the review.

      Food: 5/5
      Ambiance: 5/5
      Cleanliness: 5/5
      Service: 4/5

I absolutely love the cause behind Taste! Customers can pay what they can afford or more, and they don't hold back in the dishes' flavors.

The people are kind and welcoming. The place was quite full for a Sunday lunch - which was a great indicator that the wait would be worth it.

      We tried the following dishes:

      * (5/5) Lamb Kofta Kebab

I loved this dish! Very filling with the 2 meaty kebabs, and the freshly fried pita chips and hummus were delicious.

      * (5/5) Special Thai Chicken Salad

As much as I loved the lamb kofta kebab, I couldn't help myself from wishing I got this salad upon trying it. The various shredded vegetables (cabbage, carrots, bell peppers) mixed well together. Plus, the chicken was tender, and the Thai salad dressing was very identifiable.

I highly recommend this place to anyone in DFW. It's a noble non-profit that does a superb job in furthering its purpose in providing quality meals to everyone.

Just wanted to take a moment to recommend the miso cod served over bok choy which I enjoyed Sunday Jan 28. It's a nice piece of cod that has been marinated in miso and mirin which gives it a fresh, slightly sweet flavor then they take a torch and lightly brown it all over which delivers a delightful smoky aspect..then topped with crisp rice noodles which adds some crunch.. highly recommended ! What I'm trying to say is.. who cooks like this? Other than the very top tier restaurants in town? Not only does Taste have an excellent humanitarian cause, it also has a very strong kitchen.. enjoy

We were looking for a place to eat brunch in what will be our new neighborhood and found this place called Taste Community Restaurant. All of the waitstaff are volunteers who help with servicing the restaurant. The cooks are people who are going through their culinary training program. They all work together to help reduce food insecurities there in Fort Worth.

Their menu changes seasonally, and payment is based on a 3-tiered payment structure- whatever you can pay, whatever you paid for your last brunch out, or what you'd pay for a normal meal out with as much as you want to donate to their operation.

They have so many programs for the community. I'm very impressed.

Oh, and the food? We both had the Braised Short Rib over Polenta, and I'd order it over and over again. I can't wait to be close by and be able to support this endeavor!

For Heaven's sake! Should be their motto. It's a restaurant that cares about your soul as well as your stomach. Came in for lunch, for what I thought was after the lunch-rush...NOT! The place was slammed, so I stood near the drink bar and had an entertaining conversation with Bill the Bar Keep. Everyone from the hostess (never got her name) to the servers (mine was Jane) and cooks were genuinely happy and ready to please the customers. One of the co-founders, Julie, was there...keeping the machine oiled.

I ordered the Pozole Rojo, which is on par (if not better than), with my Mexican mom's pozole. For dessert, I had a cup of REALLY strong coffee and the bread pudding. It was amazing delightful, and not stuffed with crazy amounts of dried fruits, just enough dried cherries to add a little sweetness. I'm definitely coming back and bringing friends, too!
