My husband heard about T-Loc's online and had been wanting to try it so we made a special trip to find it. It's tucked in behind Austin Simply Fit with a few other food trucks so you've gotta keep your eyes peeled to find the drive to turn in. Surprisingly, there were a few parking spaces.
There are tables and fake grass between each of the trucks.
We weren't overly hungry, so we shared the Sonoran hot dog and papas bravas. We also ordered their homemade agua frescas, which are changed weekly. Today was cantaloupe. I assume that the owner was the one taking orders. He was really outgoing and welcoming. While we waited, they had upbeat music coming out of the kitchen.
I was satisfied with my half, but I could have eaten the whole dog. It was fantastic. We had ordered it exactly as it appears on the menu. Chef's kiss! All of the flavors went together perfectly. We decided that we'd have to place them right next to a Chicago dog, which is the only time any other hot dog has ever compared.
The owner came back out and said we knew better than to share next time.
If pork and chicken hot dogs aren't your thing, they also offer Nathan's dogs, a veggie dog and one other variety, so you don't have an excuse not to try it. What are you waiting for? GO!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - J C.Tacoma, WA872Apr 16, 2024Updated review

5 stars on the food!! Simple menu. Extraordinary flavor!! Good portions no complaints there.
Sonoran Dog was plump and awesome. Ranch fries..lots a cheese, bacon, and everything. Very well put together.
The dudes that work the truck were cool and friendly service.
Definitely be back to try the Carne Asada Burrito next time!
Food court is located in a food truck court parking lot. Good parking. Lots of other trucks here.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 195189474Feb 25, 2024
T-Loc's has been on my radar for a while, but their hours are so random. They were one of the only food trucks open in the park on a Sunday. My friend and I both got the original sonoran hot dog, con todo. Their agua fresca of the day was cantaloupe and it was perfect! Service was so friendly, he described the hot dog as sweet, spicy, salty, and savory. It was absolutely delicious. You really tasted everything. You would think having all of those toppings on a hot dog would be too much, but it hit the spot. This place has won awards and it shows. Their menu also offers a lot. I need to come back for the burrito!

Located in the food truck park 5000 Burnet, T-Loc's is a not-so-hidden gem that I've been meaning to try for a long time. There is plenty of parking, but it might be a little tricky to find a spot on busier nights. Outside of the truck are tons of seating options, but just like the parking, it might be hard to get a seat on busy nights.
Despite it being one of those busy Saturday nights, the person working the register was super friendly. After taking my order, he immediately launched into an explanation of why the dishes they make are so special and how I'm going to enjoy each one, and I didn't even ask! It really shows how much pride they take in their ingredients and preparation. When he brought my food out, he had it all wrapped up in a bag so it would be secure for the ride home, and he made sure to tell me to hold it in a certain position so nothing would get smushed. He even gave me one of their T-Loc's stickers! Even though this was my first visit, I felt like his number one customer. I can tell this is a neighborhood favorite by the way the other customers were interacting with the staff like they're regulars.
I ordered:
- Sonora Hot Dog (6/5): This is the most deluxe of deluxe hot dogs. This dog is bacon wrapped, served on a bun reminiscent of Cane's bread, topped with beans, onions, tomato, and three different sauces. It's hard to imagine what this hot dog is going to taste like before eating it, but now I can't stop thinking about it. The guy at the register told me it would be the perfect balance of salty, sweet, spicy, and acidic, and I think that's the best way I could describe it myself. It's super saucy, slightly spicy, and a little difficult to eat but SO worth it. This is the best hot dog I've ever had, and that's after it sat in my car all the way home. I'm begging you to try this, and get it con todo (even if you don't like mustard like me).
- Ranch Fries (5/5): I am a ranch girlie, so once I found out they make their own ranch, I had to try the ranch fries. Sure, it's never the best idea to take fries to go since they get soggy as soon as you close the container, but I did it anyway. The fries did get soggy, but the ranch and all the toppings made up for it. The cheese on top was giving me beautiful cheese pulls, and somehow the onions stayed crispy for some texture. I know these fries would be even better if I ate them fresh, and next time I'll definitely be ordering an extra side of that delicious ranch!
- Bean & Cheese Burrito (5/5): When I ordered this burrito, the guy told me it tastes "like a hug". I couldn't agree more. This burrito is soft, warm, and comforting. It tastes simply like beans and cheese, but it's not boring. The filling-to-tortilla ratio is just right, and it really doesn't need any other toppings.
If I haven't convinced you to try this place for the food and the customer service, wait until you hear the prices. The Sonora hot dog is only $8 with all the toppings. The ranch fries are $9 but they come with enough for at least 2 people to share. The burrito is only $6 and it's bigger than my hand. For the level of care they are putting into their food, I would've expected to pay much more.
I would give T-Loc's 6 stars if I could. There's a reason why they get so many positive reviews, and if you haven't tried it yet you need to!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Oct 13, 2023
Wow. What an awesome experience this was...
The staff is extraordinarily nice and the menu is perfectly uncomplicated. I was nervous to try the bacon wrapped dog but my boss insisted I go for it. I got the Yoqui Dog and it was incredible -- the balance of flavors was insane and I couldn't even tell the flavors apart because the bun and the melted cheese were jolting my body with serotonin. We split the carne asada fries and those were so very filling. I cannot believe this place has not been on my radar! I can't wait to show this place off.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 19, 2023
Since I was out and about to try all the foods for the Dine With Maui fundraiser and I was already at 5000 Burnet food truck park, it was about time to try these Sonoran Hot Dogs and they did not disappoint.
There was already quite a line at around 6:30p but it goes by quickly and they have some great music playing to boot.
I got the Sonara Dog which is a bacon-wrapped hot dog on a steamed bun. The bun is a soft steamed bun that is slightly sweet. It's topped with sauteed and raw onions, pinto beans, mustard, mayo, mustard, and jalapeno sauce. This is all deliciousness though slightly messy but they give you plenty of napkins.
You'll wait a hot minute for these but it's well worth the time waiting and there are lots of tables that are shaded right near the truck.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dougie F.Austin, TX01Apr 19, 2024

The tall tell sign for me finding a "go-to" spot is how quickly I go about texting my friends about it after trying it. T-Loc's was one of those places that I reached out immediately about both because I wanted my friends to check it out and because I wanted to be back ASAP. The hot dogs are amazing! I recommend their signature Sonoran hot dog. You won't be disappointed. Their carne asada fries were so good too! Their menu is pretty big, and I have to say that everything looks great. There is ample seating on picnic tables in the area and many other food trucks too. It's a nice place to have a quick meal. They do close for a bit in the winter so be mindful of that. I'm waiting for them to open up again to drop by. :)
