Consistent, incredible vegan food. This is where I take my non-veggie friends when I wanna flex how good plant-based food can be.
I've tried almost everything on the menu at this point and there's nothing I don't like. I do have a few favorites--ancho mushroom taco, warm cauliflower salad, zippy fries, purple taquitos-- but everything is great. Solid brunch as well; I usually go for the breakfast burrito, but can't sleep on that waffle either.
The restaurant itself is super cute and the service is always great.
One final note: the salted chocolate chip cookies are life-changing and you should buy the saltiest one and have them set it aside as soon as you get there. Seriously, they will all be gone by the time you leave.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

About a month ago (3/17) I tried this restaurant out for the first time with one of my best friends who is vegan. He had checked it out before, and I was curious to try something new. We stopped in during brunch hours on a Sunday and were sat almost immediately. He ordered the breakfast sandwich and I opted for the Chipotle Florentine. It was no eggs benedict, and I thought I would miss the runny yolk component... but oh my word I would definitely come back for it again! The flavors and textures all combined perfectly. The chipotle hollandaise had a nice kick to it which balanced nicely with the avo mash. Even the salad it came with was fantastic! The tanginess of the dressing complimented the rich flavors of the hollandaise. For drinks, I ordered their iced coffee with a vegan vanilla creamer (forgot if it was soy or oat based or something else) but it was good. My friend ordered the yellow shrubmarine and also the kombucha mimosa. Both drinks were great and refreshing. I will need to go back when I'm in the drinking mood. The restaurant itself had a nice vibe. I liked all the plants outside and inside. Music was a nice volume too with some cool beats playing. The artwork in the bathroom is the cutest!! Also, all the staff were friendly and helpful in recommending or describing their brunch options.
I recently ordered lunch to-go from here earlier this week (on 4/9), so here's my review from that perspective. Delicious! Their Korean jackfruit bibimbap caught my eye, and I knew I just had to try it because I had originally been looking to get a bulgogi bowl. I immediately added to my cart (UberEats) and was suggested to add the battered avocado taco. I recalled my friend saying that he had liked their tacos, and seeing that it was taco Tuesday I decided to order it along with the mushroom taco. It was lunch for two days with focus on the tacos for Tuesday :) First of all, let me say that each item was boxed separately. The tacos held up nicely on the ride back to the office and the tortilla did not tear AT ALL while eating either of the tacos. I started with the battered avocado taco and OMG I almost melted on the spot with how great it was. One bite and I was hooked (sorry Hole Mole). I think I enjoyed it better than any Ensenada style fish taco I've had. I find it extremely pleasurable when there are several textures and layers to food, and this one checked all the boxes. Damn, I can't wait to have that again. The mushroom taco was also great... if it wasn't for the mushroom texture, I would have thought it was an asada taco. It was seasoned so, so well. Bravo!
Finally for the bibimbap bowl, it did NOT disappoint. There was a lot of yummy ingredients with the base of it consisting of brown rice and steamed kale which made it filling in a healthy and light way. This was my first time having jackfruit (FINALLY) and the texture of it reminded me of perfectly cooked carnitas/chicharron. I did find the combination of the kimchi and the gochujang sauce together to have more kick that I would prefer, but I can probably remedy that in the future by asking for the G sauce on the side. Or not. I tolerated it quite well. The crushed peanuts added a nice crunch component and the aji yolk crema tied the flavors all together. I would definitely eat this again. Yeah... I'm obsessed now.
tl;dr I'm not a vegan, and I will never be a vegan unless my doctor highly recommended it, but this is a favorite for me! Check it out. Open up your mind and wake up your taste buds ;)Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Andy G.Placentia, CA12703Apr 12, 2024Updated review
Gave them a couple more chances. Today 3rd time visiting after 2 years due to poor service and rude employees. Same thing as years ago. Fully staffed, 12 seats open with plates set out (no reserved signs anywhere), and just under 1 hour before close. So doubtful open seats were being held.
Told we couldn't sit down inside and asked if we wanted to sit outside. It was nighttime and 59 degrees with a breeze. Not exactly outside weather.
Got snarky "have a nice day", when communicating it was poor service to have 12 seats open and refuse to let us sit.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 2, 2022Previous reviewFriday night 30 minutes before closing with new customers coming in, they left one person to cover the whole floor. Including taking orders, bringing food, and taking register payments for pick up orders. We sat for 15 minutes and nobody would take our order. Ironically they denied a couple walking in at 845 (closed at 9) from sitting because they were closing soon. While we were sitting and still waiting to order.
This reminded me even years ago before the pandemic they would routinely refuse to seat people up to 45 minutes before they close.
Not coming back. Its been too many times of understaffed poor service for how much they charge. - Apr 6, 2024
Honestly, the food was just okay.
I am an avid soup lover and the soup just didn't do it for me. It had an interesting sourness that I wasn't a fan of, which was disappointing because I love corn chowder. For a $9 soup, I think there are better elsewhere.
The biscuit was a disappointment. It came lukewarm, and it just wasn't comparable to the other savory biscuits I've had in my life.
The enchilada sauce was not enchilada-ing for me. For me personally, I'm used to more traditional enchilada flavors, so the lightness and airiness of the sauce didn't really capture the essence of chile verde. If you're a fan of sweeter flavors, this dish might be for you. The mushrooms and butternut squash filling was quite pleasant.
The service was lackluster. It just wasn't really there (server was pretty absent) but they weren't rude or anything like that. Some people prefer this kind of service, some people prefer more attentiveness.
The food is not for me personally, but props to Seabirds for serving decent vegan food. It wasn't bad by any means, it was just average.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 2, 2024
Alright, starting was the parking. It wasn't too busy on a Tuesday afternoon and street parking was easy. That is always a good thing in Long Beach!
I was greeted upon arrival. Only one other group when I arrived and there was plenty of seating available. I ordered a spicy margarita and made my way to the bathroom to wash my hands. Bathrooms were clean and had stocked.
I made my way back to the table and my drink was ready. Oooohhh weeeee! That is spicy! The tajin on the rim was a bit smokey flavored. The cilantro was an extremely nice touch!
I ordered the BBQ Burger. Essentially, beet burger with a "regular burger" feel to it. It came promptly. A whole lot smaller than I expected. The fries too. Inflation and the demand for higher wages are driving food prices to the extreme here in Cali! Back to my burger... it was good. It didn't beat the black bean burger at EJ Malloy's in Bixby Knolls but it was alright. It kept falling apart as I ate it. I found myself grabbing a fork and finishing it. The fries were crisp which is always a BIG deal for me.
The service... they were nice. Very nice. Just didn't feel a presence. I like mayo with my fries and didn't catch it when the plate was delivered. Nobody came back around until the bill was due. I kind of expected a bit more. There were only 3 group: a family of 4 people, a group of 3 friends and me. Seems what you can't make in food, you make in tips.
Would I come back? Yes. The service wasn't so bad. The food was good. Ambiance was nice and laid back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 10107162798Feb 20, 2024Updated review
I cannot recommend seabirds enough.
I've tried other locations and they haven't let me down at those locations either.
As a regular meat eater I truly appreciate PHENOMENAL vegan food that's soooooo good I could be vegan if I had a private chef making me meals this healthy but delicious always!
Enchiladas and purple taquitos are my fave.
The bowls are a great filling healthy meal option.
If you wanna be naughty their lemonade and desserts are worth the self treating I promise.
Close to a place I've lived before and worth trying if local or if on a nearby route.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Nov 8, 2017Previous reviewTried the bbq jackfruit sliders with sweet potato tots since they had a special advertised for less than $10 so I figured what the heck I'll try a new place. This spot is amazing! The customer service is superb so shout out to the pretty waitress who helped me out on my first visit. I had the green tea to drink which is refillable which made me a very happy camper since I love green tea.
The waitress told me some of the available sauces and I highly suggest trying the sweet potato tots with their aioli sauce as the combo is perfect in so many ways. The sandwiches and tots were just enough to fill me up without leaving me in a food coma after finishing.
Another good local spot of Long Beach that I would highly suggest to those in the area or looking for a new spot to try.
Ask them about their specials for different daily deals! - Julius L.Long Beach, CA2603830Apr 20, 2024
I came here with my work team a few years ago and really enjoyed it. But today was my wife's first time dining here. Our food came out pretty quick. Wifey complimented, the burger was the BEST non-meat burger she had ever had! It was filling too. And I'll add those Zippy fries were amazing. I really enjoyed the flavor pairings with the sauces and the mushrooms. Our waiter Damian was really funny too so that helped us settle in after the stress of trying to find parking. Also the ambiance is really good and they had a good playlist from early 90's to early 00's

After getting a personal message from my last review from the manager I wanted to come back and give them another shot because honestly they have the best vegan food in the area. Called in an order for pick up and it was ready within 15 mins. The staff was super attentive and quick, which I really appreciated because I was hungry!
Food was great and even presented beautifully in the Togo boxes.
No complaints and looking forward to coming back for dine in.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 3, 2023Previous reviewOrdered a Caesar Salad and taquitos to go via their online system. Came to pick it up after 25 mins when it said it was ready. When I came in, I was told they were just finishing up my order, sat there for another 20 mins and asked how much longer it was going to be and was then told that they were going to get started on my order soon.... So you're telling me that 45 mins after I ordered a salad you haven't even started it?
It's really sad because I love the food here but the lack of ability to communicate is extremely frustrating.
The customer service here is really hit or miss as I have been here so many times but after this last experience I am not sure I am willing to come back. Even after I asked why it was taking so long they kept coming up with excuses after the fact, the order system was delayed, they got an influx of customers in and no actual ownership or apology.... Just be honest when I first walked in and I would have gotten a refund if I was going to have to wait another 30 mins for a salad. Sadly I had already added a tip, I should have asked for that back.
Hope they work on communication and customer service here because I really do enjoy this place and their food. - Dec 23, 2023
I don't know the landscape of Long Beach very well. But coming from Venice Beach, it's a midpoint to meet an old friend on my HBD. I had reviewed the menu at seabirds prior to arrival.
I ordered the butter squash enchiladas and the passion fruit jasmine iced tea. Both were delicious and exactly what a vegetarian girl would hope for. I took the leftovers home and shared them with my doggo, bc why not.
The service, the menu, and the ambiance on the interior were cozy and excellent. My only reservation was the neighborhood: it's difficult to find parking and there were homeless encampments in close proximity. Made me a lil nervous bc mental illness is a thing.
I'll def def return here again when in Long Beach. A cozy lil hideaway, with delicious food, and perfect customer service to match. Thank you for your kindness.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
