Incredible food and great service! We dined here for a party of 7 on a Thursday night. Restaurant wasn't too packed but we also had a reservation just in case.
We shared the charcuterie board and I got the salmon. The mashed potatoes were so good. My friend got the chicken with this amazing black garlic puree and cornbread mash. My other friend got the steak and frites. The steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked to a perfect medium rare.
Will be coming again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 16, 2024
We didn't have reservations, so we were relegated to the seats in front of the restaurant. But that's ok because we saw tons of cute doggies walking by.
We've been wanting to try S+S for a while, so here we are. The hostesses and our server were very friendly.
We had plans for a big dinner, so we decided to keep lunch light. Once I shared my chicken, it made my lunch lighter. ;)
We both enjoyed our salads and can't wait to come back for dinner!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 8, 2024
My boyfriend and I visited here for our anniversary brunch, and the food, service, ambiance, was soooo nice! We were catered to so attentively which made the whole experience so welcoming and enjoyable.

Went upstairs which is open seating for dinner. 7pm and no wait which is nice.
The place is always so cute.
Always consistently good food
Ordered meatballs, crab cakes, some Mediterranean dips and calamari. It's alll very good. $120 for these 4, 2 drinks and tax+tip.
Never disappoints.
One less star because it took our waitress 30 mins to get our order and drinks were sooooo slow.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mar 24, 2024
I had this place saved on Yelp and decided to take my friend here for his birthday on a Sunday evening.
Looking for parking was not fun but I found a a parking spot a block away. I made reservations and we arrived on time and was seated immediately.
Our server was DANIEL (who has beautiful arm tattoos I inquired about) was attentive and had great recommendations.
I ordered their signature burger wrapped in lettuce.
My friend ordered their skirt steak. Desert, we ordered their pistachio brown butter cake. My friend loved it (he loves pistachios), I thought it was ok. Food was great but drinks were even better.
The bartender was MEL. For our first round, we ordered a whiskey fixx. For our second round, we asked Daniel to pick what ever drink he recommended. Welp, Mel made her famous "1500 drink" which is not on the menu. I was informed the name came her $1,500 TIP after making that drink for a party! Well, I can see why because that drink was damn good! It's the kind of drink that makes you forgot all of your problems from work / day a d definitely relaxes you and makes you feel good. I only ordered one because I was driving. I will definitely have a driver next time and sit at the bar lol.
Based on Daniel's service, Mel's drinks, food, ambiance, I will definitely return.Helpful 51Thanks 11Love this 44Oh no 0 - Apr 6, 2024Updated review
When in LB this place is a must, I recommend reservations on the weekends! After you have the Parker house rolls you will be hooked and understand why this is worth every calorie!
Michelin one star is what this place deserves!
For parking, I recommend paying the $1.75 for parking. It's a minute walking distance to get to flavor town.
The drink menu is deep here! It's literally a book of 10 pages double sided!
There is an upstairs for private events.

My favorite items here are the following:
Cauliflower tempura
Parker house Bread rolls - a must!!
Skuna bay Salmon entree - cooked perfectly, not overcooked, crispy crunchy skin and glazed basil brown butter.
Organic half chicken - not overcooked, juicy and tender on the inside.
Enough said, the food here is Michelin one star rating! - 21168566Mar 6, 2024Updated review
Back again & it's still a hit! This evening stopped by to meet up with a dear friend. We did more talking than eating so we ordered light.
The latte and pistachio butter cake is rich and kinda dense. Great pair for a rainy evening.
The vibe is so cool in here and the service is always fantastic.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Mar 25, 2021Previous reviewWe celebrated my sisters birthday here with friends! COVID stopped us from being seated next to each other but I appreciate the restaurant following protocol and keeping guests and staff safe.
Let me tell you about Brady, he has got to be one of the most attentive servers I've had in a while. He made great suggestions for the table and was so sweet! Everyone at the table was impressed with his performance. If you visit request him. Everyone else was just as supportive. I appreciate that x10. They even brought a dessert for each table since we couldn't be seated together.
Next time I'm going to try and get a seat on the upstairs covered patio & requesting a corner seat so I can people watch while I enjoy my food & drink.
Thanks for a good time saint & second! - Mar 11, 2024
Like any other restaurant on 2nd street, parking is always a struggle. We luckily found parking on the street right away, but the rest of the party had a difficult time. Parking was free after 7pm which was a plus if you do find a metered spot off of 2nd street!
We had a reservation and were seated right away, but it was definitely busy on a Saturday night! The service was a bit slow but I can tell our server was busy trying to juggle our big party along with his other tables.
Food and drinks were amazing! Our server told us the menu was seasonal, but I would recommend these dishes if you get a chance to try.
Colossus Shrimp A La Plancha - Creamy and delicious! The risotto was cooked really nicely and the shrimp was nicely seasoned.
Gochujang Pork Belly - The pork belly was flavorful! The cucumber that came with it was a little too salty, but the pork belly paired well with the lettuce, radish, and kimichi!
I would definitely want to come back to try their other items!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 24, 2024Updated review
Food: apparently food wasn't great over the years and improved according to my friends. We had the meatball with rustic bread yum. We had the Salmon with Pasta. Amazeballs. then our dessert was the pistachio butter bread. Holy crap so good. Then my drink of the night was their coffee old fashion. Really well done.
Service: was great previous was great, but the one who took over kinda forgot about us which is fine. It was really busy that weekend.
Ambiance: this is a really nice upscale place. if you can roll in groups of four or less upstairs its worth a visit.
Parking: it's madness in this part of Long Beach, the parkings are usually not on the main street, so you need to snake through the side streets and find parking lots to pay.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 14, 2019Previous reviewParking: I only found street parking. Got lucky to park a block away. There's neighborhood parking by and mostly likey metered.
Service: Gloria was the main server. Helped out by the manager running the afternoon shift. It was def a team effort to help an ever changing and growing party from 15 to 20 plus 3 kids. Great team effort. I didn't see from my end no one had to ask twice for anything. Refills were at a constant. Maybe one thing I heard that had to be reminded. Not a big deal I saw. We even changed our seats as orders were coming out but they handled it like a quarterback reading the defense. Saw the changes and made the adjustments. Executed well.
Food: Just wow. my other birthday twin recommend this place. Been here before and trusted her judgment. I ordered the filet ( never ordered steak and it was a hit!) Mac and shrooms was Fuego. Brussel sprouts dish and the mac n cheese was a match made combo to have. I didn't get filled up in quantity but was satisfied in quality.
Decor: modern feels for sure. I see copper , wood grain. Awesome set up. Even in with the table I had a great view where to food was being made.
We came here on a joint birthday celebration with my great big family. We originally had like 15 which ended becoming almost 20 plus two kids.
To Gloria and Emily running the day shift helping with our reservation.
To Bradley and Amber being the kind to return my bday cards at the end of the night. Taking Bradley suggestion to be encouraged write this Yelp review.
Thank you Gloria for doing a superb job. I only give five stars if I had a personal touch with the speaking to the server. This time with all the request we had and adjust on the fly. I don't mind handing this out. Keep doing your thing. I hope our family didn't give you to much trouble. Cheers again !
Final verdict
Would come back again ?: Of course.
Big groups ? : Yes but 20 is pushing it. Lol even in my case.
Check this place out.
Ps: I didn't check the menu, hopefully there's some churros dessert something when I come back. Cheers ! - Micah G.Placentia, CA02714Apr 19, 2024Updated review
We were finally back in the area, so here's a photo of their wedge salad.
Food is still incredible, service is top notch, great atmosphere. This place is 1Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 28, 2022Previous reviewI regret to have not taken any photos of our food before eating it. Presentation was top notch.
We ordered the wedge salad. I am usually not a fan, but my wife likes them so we ordered one to share. The wedge was more of a bowl shape, filled with onion, chive, bacon, dill and more coupled with mild dressing made this the best salad I've ever had. If I'd have know what the salad was, I'd have gotten it as an entree.
Wife got the chicken sandwich and fries. Sandwich was great, crispy and full of flavor. Fries were clearly fresh and ketchup made in house.
I got the fall fusilli. First bite tasted of autumn without resorting to pumpkin spice or apple pie. No two bites were the same and every bite was a delight. The squash, the chanterelles, and the fried sage all tasted like fall. There was a nice cheese on the bottom that soaked in the very mild chili oil sauce to create something I could never conceive of, let alone create. We will be back soon.
