About the Business
Welcome to Mystic Quarry Resort, a modern Texas campground located near the Guadalupe River and Canyon Lake in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Mystic Quarry is designed for those who camp and those who don't, where camping is a style you get to choose yourself, be that tiny houses, Boho tipis, cabins, cottages, RV sites or primitive campsites, all just a skip from the Whitewater Amphitheater and close to Gruene and Wimberley. Though our camping styles may differ, we believe that we're all the same in our love of earth, water, fire, sun and the night sky. Our name was inspired by the mysterious stories found here. Come gather around the campfire and we'll tell you some.

Mystic Quarry staff are friendly and accommodating. They keep the campground and facilities clean and well stocked. We were amazed at all the games available in the Recreation Center and pool room. The waterfall is beautiful day and night. We appreciated the lighting on the grounds and the video cameras made us feel extra safe.
I appreciated the hiking trails and the pool. I am excited about all the different options of places to stay and we will upgrade to one of those instead of sleeping in a tent next time. The land is beautiful and more than met our needs as a large group.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Susan H.Columbus, TX079Dec 26, 2023
Cool campground with so much to do. Large, shady rv spaces, variety of cabins to pick from, fun activities for everyone and hiking trails throughout. Very reasonably priced!!!

We booked the Glamping Lodge at $214 a night and were so disappointed we cut our trip short. Writing this review so others are aware before booking.
1. The tents are not sealed. Meaning there is a gap along the ground letting all sorts of bugs in and rendering the air-conditioning useless. Was a big surprise to us as they look like wooden lodges with a tent for a roof in the photo but that is not the case. My husband dropped our toothbrush off the bathroom sink and walked around the back of the tent and was able to put his hand in and retrieve the toothpaste.
2. There are no cooking conveniences. No plates or cutlery in the kitchen. Tents come with a grill but there are no tongs for instance.
3. The fire pits are propane. No thought is put into how guests will use the firepit. No ignitor in the pit and no lighter provided. Also the propane is poorly controlled and fireballed when we eventually went out to purchase a lighter and turned it on.
4. The absolute worse though was hearing my daughters blood curdling scream when she pulled back the sheets at 7pm for bedtime only to find a huge spider between the sheets.
I called the camp emergency number asking if we could get a refund if we left but they really couldn't care less and said no refunds. We decided then and there to eat the cost, pack our stuff up, and drive the 4.5 hours home.
Creating memories with our camping 2023 trip. Just not the type of memories we wanted.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael J.Cibolo, TX1184Jan 21, 2023
Absolutely wonderful facility! We stayed 4 days and it was so relaxing. The grounds are very clean, staff is friendly and professional. They had washers, horseshoes, tether ball, bocce ball, ping pong, pool table, and a decent sized pool. Geared more towards adults, and lots of friendly winter Texans. We will definitely be returning!

Mystic Quarry is an RV Park, Glamping Park and boasts cabins, yurts, teepees and much more. There are so many choices when it comes to staying there, but the best part is the vision that Mystic Quarry embraces.
There are hiking trails, a beautiful waterfall and outdoor seating area, an outdoor movie screen is in the works and the swimming pool was crystal clear. They have an outdoor party deck with flat screen TV, a lounge in their clubhouse and beer on tap!
This amazing property is the best maintained park I've ever visited and the staff is terrific! We were greeted by Madison upon check-in with our travel trailer and her other half, Austin was handling maintenance duties and more. Austin escorted us on his golf cart right to our spot and made sure to assist in backing my rig in, maintaining proximity to the water and power connections. You couldn't ask for better service. The park itself is heavily wooded with Live Oaks and there was a surprising amount of space for each RV - twice what you might normally find.
The second day of our visit, Madison rode by and invited us to the clubhouse for a "Friendsgiving" dinner. We joined a dozen or so of our fellow RVers and enjoyed a freshly cooked Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings. What a wonderful surprise and a great way to get to know everyone.
We stumbled across this gem during a web search and we're glad we did. We'll definitely be going back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Anton P.Austin, TX1012Oct 23, 2022
We booked one of their "cabins" but it's really just a glorified double wide trailer-home, which you share a wall with someone else and only get a half of for $150+ a night. Calling that a "cabin" is a real stretch. The toilet wasn't bolted down tightly, and there were old cigarette butts in the ashtray outside. Cheap roach motel with some IKEA upgrades tailored for a low-end instagram influencer vibes. The Adirondack chairs outside were nice, but overall extremely average to below average room.
There were also too many rules and extra hidden fees everywhere, make sure you check your receipts if you stay here. Originally the pet fee on the booking was $25, but they decided to double that to $50 by the time we checked in. Apparently the shuttle is $15 per person to Whitewater which is a short ride less than a mile away, there was no indication of that fee when we took it. We put our names and numbers on a blank sheet of paper understanding that the driver wanted to make sure we got a ride after the show and take care of us, but really he just wanted to make sure we got charged for the shuttle ride. We ended up tipping $20+ because we actually thought it was free and were impressed initially. Monica at the front desk (who was clearly annoyed with us when we called in after looking through our receipts) sent us a picture of the bus signup sheet as "proof" that we agreed to the price, with a misspelled forged copy of our last name on the sheet. Clearly legitimate... She said that the driver also tells everyone the price when they board, which he did not. Just make it 100% clear what the price is when the guests board the shuttle. I understand this is a business but people don't like to feel cheated out of their money, especially when they're guests at your "resort". I shouldn't have to rummage through your website to find the price. We also found in the receipt that they charge a fee for booking online, what's up with that? Would you rather I call and waste your time to book it?
Monica said she would refund the pet fee difference, but there have been no indications that this actually happened. They were able to charge all these extras very quickly though, funny how that works!
Lesson learned, we'll just stay somewhere else next time we go to Whitewater. You can tell from their website that this place caters to RV crowds coming in from the north and just takes advantage of local Texans coming in for a good time for a concert. Would definitely not recommend this place to friends or family.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sonali S.Austin, TX21531Jul 6, 2022
Absolutely stunning location! Been coming to Mystic Quarry with a huge group (15+) for the last 3 years for July 4th and we have loved it every single time. It has every amenity that you can want plus more - shuttle service to/from tubing, fresh eggs, bocce ball, sand volleyball, a little nature trail. The staff that works there are also super accommodating and always on top of things. My only gripe would be to allow Saturday check-ins.

Tiny homes were great. Plenty of space for a family of 5 to stay. Live music Saturday evening was a great bonus. Nature trails and a waterfall to have a little nature experience. A hen house with a rooster and chickens were great to see too. They are very dog friendly as well.

We had a great stay here in Oct. 2022. The place was clean and the folks were friendly and we enjoyed the walking paths. The thing that caused me to do a review was that we had a small dog with us and we wanted to go to Fredericksburg for a day trip and could find no day boarding for dogs. One of the ladies that works there was kind enough to let our dog out for a walk and wouldn't accept payment. Thanks for being so kind.
