Are they open on Christmas day?
A:
Most businesses close on Christmas Day, but there's are few that will close early or open late. With a lot of things changing with the pandemic, your best is to give them a call.

I ordered a meal on Ubereats from them. They had a 2 for 1 special on the app for the gyro plate so I ordered it. It was delicious! it tastes more like a home cooked meal than restaurant food. Nothing was overly salty and the flavors were straightforward and not overly complex. The vegetables were a simple mix of zucchini, onion, and carrots. Good sized portion too!

Meze offers a taste of the Mediterranean with a trendy SoCal spin. Located in the vibrant Gaslamp District, it boasts a hip ambiance, with high tables, bar seating, and a mix of spaces to suit your mood. They also have dancers and flame eaters performing the night my friends and I visited.
The menu is expansive, from Greek staples like hummus and falafel to gyros and more. I ordered the lamb shanks and it was much more than I originally anticipated, it was on the heavier side and if I could redo it, I'd share. The portions are very generous.
On the plus side, the drinks are phenomenal! I had a Moscow Mule with bourbon that was delicious.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 5, 20241 check-in
Stopped in for a drink and they have a great selection of wines to choose from, including a number from Greece. Their cocktails are on the pricier side, as is expected in Gaslamp, and have fun names. Saw a number of people ordering the flaming appetizer and it was quite a fun table side preparation.
Lots of space, good for groups, dates, families...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Brian C.San Diego, CA22137Apr 4, 2024
Outstanding Greek cuisine and unbeatable service. We stopped here on a Saturday night for an early dinner - unfortunately coinciding with a Padres game, which made parking challenging. The hostess and staff were incredibly friendly and warm from the first interaction, and allowed us to pick our table (we sat at a high top). The restaurant is decorated in a tasteful homage to Greek culture, including little details like spinning drachmas over the bar.
I'd highly recommend the saganaki, prepared tableside with appropriate flair. We also split the combo souvlaki which gave us a taste of much of the menu. Everything on that plate was delicious, perfectly sauced and seasoned, but our favorites were the sausage, lamb, and rice pilaf.
The meal is on the pricier side, definitely an occasion, but it's worth every penny.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 4963891089Mar 15, 2024Updated review
Lamb Chops, Falafel Plate, Fries
We loved this meal! Great interior and outdoor seating space. Friendly servers. Food took a little long to come out, but it was delicious. Lamb Chops cooked to perfection. Phenomenal fries. And they have their own house specialty hot sauce that was delicous!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 1, 2022Previous reviewSpanakopita
Puff pastry filled with fresh spinach, leeks, feta cheese, mint, and dill
Really excellent spanakopita. Great flavors and perfect puff pastry. Just a little too pricey for the portion. - Mar 10, 2024
This was close by the convention center where we were for a conference. We stopped in for lunch and met a friend. Plenty of seating and fast service.
I had the watermelon salad, N had the chicken souvlaki, and A had the falafel plate. Huge portions for lunch, we alll had leftovers which unfortunately went to waste.
My salad was refreshing. The dressing was on the heavy side but luckily I had just poured a little of it. I do wish they had chopped the feta and watermelon into smaller cubes - they were not bite size which would've worked better. I think it was missing a flavor - maybe add some mint or lemon to brighten it. Otherwise nice.
The boys enjoyed their plates.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 2, 2024
A nice lighter option compared to some of the other restaurants in downtown. Food was good, tzatziki, greek salad and falafel were our favorites. Wish the texture on the gyro was more on the crispy side, but the flavor was there.
Inside is spacious and has a nice modern ambiance. We chose to sit on the patio to people watch while we ate. Much appreciative of the prompt service and attentiveness of the staff. Would definitely make a trip back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 29, 2024
Greek Mediterranean fusion right next to Petco Park.
A restaurant with a bit of a club vibe - huge spinning Greek Drachmae (or shields ?) over a long bar overlooks the Lower deck dining area. Our server Jenny was fast and efficient, and the place was clean, including the bathrooms, but then again it was a Wednesday night and a tad slow.
We started with the Pikilia platter which came with (in order of deliciousness) tzatziki, hummus, spicy feta, tomato basil hummus, cilantro jalapeño hummus, and baba ganoush (which I didn't care for because it was a tad watery). The dish also came with olives and was a tour de force, about 1/2 delicious and the rest ok.
Next came the Shrimp saganaki. I am torn here because I LOVE a good tableside fire, and boy did they deliver. I fear though, that the flame was too much (although very entertaining) as the resulting dish had shrimp that was a tad past cooked well, and there was a significant amount of burnt garlic or onion that make the dish unpleasant. Still thinking about that bonfire though.
We then had the star of the night - the octopus. If you eat here don't miss this dish. The flavors work so well together, the picked beet, the leek, and of course the tentacle!
Finally the mains. The chicken and the filet were both ok and tasted delicious when a dressed in a pita with fixings and hot sauce. The lamb though... ... out of this world, so tender and flavorful.
All in all, prices are fair and service amazing!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Johnnie F.Escondido, CA24423Apr 17, 20241 check-in

I stopped by this place for lunch, as I was attending a conference at the downtown convention center. The place has very cool vibe - as it is more of a fusion-oriented place than just a straight-up Greek restaurant.
The service was very professional and efficient and they recommended the Avgolemono Soup as well as a Saganaki Shrimp Platter dish which were both very good. The prices were pretty reasonable, and I would definitely come back to this place to try some of their other interesting looking dishes.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
