Reception agents were friendly, easy check in. The bathroom was not very clean. I realize this is an older hotel and stays busy but at least keep it clean! There was hair in the shower not to mention the tub backed up when taking shower. Gross. The pillows were rock hard. Breakfast was as expected. Overall, I'm not sure I'd stay here again.

Pros: very close to convention center, a Denny's is across the street for late night food. Less expensive than most other hotels surrounding the convention center. Complementary breakfast is typical quality.
Cons: you don't even get what you pay for. Office chair falling apart. Bath tub took 5 minutes to drain. Toilet barely flushes. Most staff (not all) at the desk are minimally helpful or friendly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Melissa J.Fort Worth, TX37197Feb 6, 2024
Stayed here for a work conference about 6 years ago and there were extreme delays in checking in and after finally getting in my room, someone opened my door with a key.
So they had given two people the same room. Other than this poor management of reservations and or staff (to have rooms ready in time) the place was okay.
No major cleanliness issues or problems and staff were professional enough and breakfast was good.
We just stayed here again two nights for another work conference.
OMG
The only positive - breakfast is still good; large area with hot and continental breakfast items. I usually only have coffee though, so I can't review the food.
Also, some staff were apologetic for the delay and provided water while we waited. The maintenance guys were also kind and helpful.
We checked in at 4p after standing in an hour long line (same as before) and were told neither room was ready (one hadn't been cleaned and the other hadn't been "verified"...whatever that means), and they would call when it was ready.
So we went over to the convention center for about an hour and came back a little after 5p. Rooms still not ready.
So we went to dinner and were finally able to get into our rooms at 7:30p.
Hallways not vacuumed .
My room-all drawers were fully open, air filters to AC were on desk, glass turntable from microwave on top of cabinet. The room was HOT.
I had no soap, shampoo, etc and there was a dirty washcloth in the bathtub.
When I called front desk to get some soap ...no one answered.
My co-workers shared their toiletries with me.
The shower ...it was like a light rainfall. Wide and weak spray, but at least the water was hot and I didn't find hair in the tub (that's the worst).
The beds were made, and upon inspection seemed okay, but I did find a visitor (see photo) on the floor between a bed and a wall...who was thankfully deceased.
I definitely did not go barefoot in this room.
Elevators didn't work for a while the first night, and I heard some guests were stuck in an elevator.
I definitely will never book here again. I couldn't care less that they have the Texas shape waffles.
No, just no.
We were not offered any compensation.
This hotel needs some major improvements and my guess should start with owners/manager.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 6, 20242 check-ins
I've stayed here twice. From the looks of the second visit, things have clearly started going downhill.
For being near a convention center, this hotel has zero clue how to staff for accommodating crowds. It shouldn't even be an issue considering people already placed reservations for their rooms, so they already know who is coming and when. After telling people to "check in by 4pm" there was a line winding through the lobby and breakfast room until almost 9pm at night as people spent hours waiting to check in.
Rooms are spacious but it's clear that they do not clean them often enough. I was hoping other reviews I read were wrong, but no, sure enough I found myself having to kill and dispose of a cockroach in the room.
While eating breakfast in the morning, random people smelling of smoke and weed come in to solicit cash. Staff didn't notice or care until someone complained and then the panhandlers were escorted out.
The location is solid, just blocks from the convention center, Riverwalk, and Alamo. Other than that, there's a lot of room for improvement.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 33111193Feb 24, 20241 check-in
I guess the saying you get what you pay for is true here - it's definitely the cheapest option in the area (if you're staying for a conference) which was the primary reason I chose it over others. The online pictures make it look much nicer than it actually is- which is in desperate need of renovation and up keep help. Throughout the hotel things are chipped, not well cleaned (though I didn't have some of the issues with hair, bed bugs or cockroaches) and my door appeared to have a small crack that it technically closed and locked but you could see light through. The luggage check is a nice feature though.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location, the mattresses and pillows are terrible, the shower head is hanging on for dear life, the rooms are not clean and the bathrooms need a good bleach wash. Due to the last min I booked this place. Won't be back. Def not worth $190/night

I was here for a conference and this was not worth the nearly $200/night cost. It was very unclean overall. My room had black stuff in the vents that the staff cleaned out when asked. The bathtub faucet leaked and was running 24/7. The toilet was extremely dirty near the rim. The lobby was leaking. The breakfast was very okay - scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, waffles, cereal, etc. The location was great but surely there are much nicer hotels nearby for the same price point.

DO NOT TRUST THIS HOTEL or its management. Jason Roberts will say whatever to cover the sins of his staff.
We accidentally left a special cake in the valet area as our departure. I called to speak with a nice lady at the service desk on Wednesday, June 14 (same day as our checkout). I told her I would be back to San Antonio on Friday morning, June 16th. I arrived this morning to pick the cake up and they said that I left the cake there and never returned so threw the cake away. Jason lied directly to my face and only offered words, "I'm sorry". I am quite certain his staff ate the cake (no one throws away a fresh cake.....without asking).
I have reported this to Hotels.com and Wyndam corporate.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eva M.Washington, DC08Jan 24, 2024
I had a conference at the hotel hence why I stayed at the La Quinta. There were several issues multiple colleagues endured. My main concern is the cleanliness of the establishment. My room was fine however it did not look like they changed my sheets and there was hair on the sheets as well. The towels aren't very clean either. Keep in mind your room will not be cleaned on a daily basis. You would also have to take your own trash out and go to the lobby for fresh towels. There also has been other reports of bed bugs and roaches. Also, the elevators don't really work just an FYI. The staff was nice however not very attentive and one of the house keepers were quite rude to me. Overall, I wouldn't stay at the La Quinta hotel.

Bad customer service-
Gave us no shampoo or conditioner
Lied about paying for parking
Our hotel card didn't work. Multiple times we had to go to the front and tell them for them to set it up again. Very frustrating!
Room was dirty and sheets and covers had stains in them.
The white guy at night was so rude and had a attitude for no reason when I asked about the shampoo and telling him about the card again and again. I also informed him about the payment they charged us for parking that I was unaware about but did not even listen.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
