    We are excited to share that LIXIL has received a total of 13 iF Design Awards this year, one of the world’s most prestigious and meaningful recognitions for high design quality, functionality, and social impact. Through our LIXIL power brands – American Standard, INAX, and GROHE – we have been awarded in various categories, ranging from bathroom and kitchen to building technologies and exhibitions. The competition was intense: almost 11,000 entries were submitted from 72 countries in hopes of receiving the international seal of quality. To be awarded means passing a rigorous two-stage selection by a 132-member jury, made up of independent experts from all over the world, and we are very proud to have achieved this a total of 13 times with our consumer-centric solutions.     Today we announced full-year financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024. LIXIL CEO Kinya Seto commented, “During the fiscal year ending in March 2024, LIXIL experienced a decline in both revenue and profit on a consolidated level. Although the new housing market in Japan contracted more than initially projected, robust demand for renovation products, especially for home insulation, helped to sustain our financial performance. However, we encountered particularly adverse market conditions in our international business, with a slowdown in demand across the year, most acutely felt in Europe and the US. In response to these extraordinary market conditions, we have taken decisive actions aligned with the strategic initiatives set forth in our 'LIXIL Playbook.' We initiated structural reforms early in the fiscal year aimed at recovering the profitability of our international business operations. This included optimizing our personnel allocation in Europe and the US, further reviewing our business portfolio, including the streamlining of loss-making entities, and restructuring our supply chain. We anticipate these initiatives will further improve our profitability from the fiscal year ending March 2025. To enhance financial performance and achieve sustainable growth, we remain focused on serving consumers with more differentiated products while also delivering a positive impact for society and the environment.     LIXIL has set a groundbreaking precedent in the Japanese building products sector by securing SBT (Science Based Targets) net-zero approval in March 2024. The latest science shows that the world is reaching code red for climate change. To avert a major climate crisis, we must take meaningful action to reduce carbon emissions and limit global temperatures to 1.5°C. Under the SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standards, companies must aim for a 90% reduction in Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The strategy also includes neutralizing up to 10% of residual emissions through effective carbon removal methods. To date, LIXIL stands among the 458 global companies and 6 building materials firms that have successfully had their long-term targets validated. Uchu Mukai, LIXIL's Chief Environmental Impact Officer, shared his insights: “We believe that making better homes a reality for everyone, everywhere is founded on sustainable living in coexistence with nature. At LIXIL, we strive to go beyond simply fulfilling our responsibilities to minimize the environmental burden of our operations, and have made steady progress working together with business partners including suppliers. Our long-term target have now been approved by SBTi as meeting their science-based net-zero standard, and to us this indicates the potential of achieving our Environmental Vision 2050 commitment ’Zero Carbon and Circular Living,’ We will continue to expand our impact by transitioning to a low-carbon society, for today and tomorrow.” As the world grapples with the urgent challenge of climate change, LIXIL remains dedicated to mitigating its effects and accelerating the transition towards a more sustainable, low-carbon society.
