Massive overnight fire leaves home badly damaged in Potomac

A massive overnight fire badly damaged a large home in Montgomery County. The fire was reported just after midnight early Friday morning on Chapel Road in Potomac.

Fire crews battled cold conditions and closed a portion of Chapel Road, between Norton Road and Falls Road, to allow space to run hoses to fight the blaze.

Investigators do not believe anyone was inside of the house during the fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Also in Montgomery County, fire crews battled a blaze on Brick Haven Way in the Germantown area. No injuries were reported and a cause is still being investigated.
