Celebrate Year Round

Here are some tips you can implement year round to help the planet:

  • By using a reusable water bottle instead of buying disposable plastic bottles, an individual can save an average of 156 plastic bottles from entering the environment each year.
  • Switching to LED light bulbs, an individual can save up to 80% on their energy bill and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 1,000 pounds per year.
  • A faucet that drips one drop of water per second can waste up to 3,000 gallons of water per year. Fixing leaks and taking shorter showers can help reduce water usage.
  • Choosing to walk or bike instead of driving a car for short trips, an individual can reduce their carbon footprint by up to 22 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions per day.
  • Purchase products with minimal packaging or using reusable bags and containers, an individual can significantly reduce the amount of waste they produce.
  • Practice the 3 R's (reduce, reuse, recycle), an individual can significantly reduce their waste and conserve resources for future generations.

Find information about Recycling with the City, view bike lanes, and find EV Charging Stations around the city.
