The community is invited to join Sue Gordon and daughters Debora, Lisa and Adina for David Gordon’s funeral at 10:30am on Tuesday at Temple Sholom, 1223 Emery St, Eau Claire, followed immediately by burial at B’nai Brith Jewish Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed on the Temple’s YouTube Channel and the burial at the cemetery can be viewed via zoom. (Meeting ID: 838 2013 6632, Passcode: 101920)
The main shiva gathering will be 6:30-8pm Wednesday in the Community Room/Chapel at River Pines Nursing Home, 206 N. Willson, Altoona, with a service beginning at 7pm. All are welcome to attend. Rather than entering the nursing home from the front, take the Prairie Pointe entrance at 286 N. Willson, Altoona (north end of the building), turn left behind the building and look for signs to the door, which is just beyond the glassed-in therapy gym. This will allow you to enter directly to where shiva will be held.
There will also be a brief shiva service on Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm at David and Sue’s home, 3619 W. Country Club Ln, Altoona, at which all are welcome.
For the comfort of David’s family, please refrain from wearing perfume or using scented body products before the funeral or shiva gatherings.

David was a great man. Husband and father, noted scholar. And a person with integrity far beyond his peers, regardless of personal cost. This giant will be missed by so many.

I am so sorry for your loss. David was such a gentle, kind man who was always supportive of his faculty. I remember his ambling through the halls of Hibbard on one mission or another but also willing to stop & chat for a time. He had a wonderful intellect, a caring spirit, and a generous heart. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
