Public Involvement

Community awareness, participation, and input are integral to achieving success, beginning early in the planning process and continuing throughout all phases of the Master Plan Update. Public involvement brings a variety of ideas and solutions into the Master Plan Update process. Overall, this process will help Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport better serve our customers and the public.

We encourage everyone in our region to share your concerns and incorporate your ideas into this process. Whether you’re a frequent flyer or haven’t set foot in the terminal for 20 years, the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport is YOUR airport and we want to know what you think.

The projects that are proposed have the potential to fuel the growth of our region for decades. The process to develop the Master Plan has involved an extensive public outreach component to understand the needs of the citizens and businesses that utilize the airport. That work has led us to develop ideas for important enhancements and developments that will improve airport facilities, and enable growth. These enhancements will make the airport more efficient, user friendly, and in tune with technological advancements, as well as ensure compliance with current FAA standards and requirements, while being responsive to community and business needs and, most importantly, priming ROA for growth.
