The Kentucky Department for Public Health advises families to have a disaster supply kit ready for any emergency - from extreme weather to disease or illness outbreaks to earthquakes. Visit the Ready.gov website for guidelines on creating your kit. You can find additional information on emergency preparedness at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website. In the event of an earthquake, be prepared to manage public health issues and concerns. Visit our earthquake safety page for more information. The Kentucky Health Alerts Web site is maintained by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to provide a one-stop source connecting Kentuckians to the latest information during the influenza season and on other breaking health threats or issues.
