The latest research report from Women's Sports Foundation, "Thriving Through Sport: The Transformative Impact on Girls’ Mental Health,'' highlights the vital role sports play in enhancing girls’ mental well-being amid rising concerns about youth mental health. Engaging in sports correlates with lower levels of depression and anxiety, along with stronger peer relationships and a sense of purpose. Rates of mental health disorders are significantly lower among current sport participants compared to non-participants. It emphasizes the importance of fostering healthy sport environments focused on skill development and personal growth rather than solely on competition.
