Out of an abundance of caution, NORD recreation centers, tennis centers, playgrounds, and facilities will be closed for recreational use until further notice. This includes swimming pools, basketball courts, and outdoor play and fitness equipment. Health clinics will remain open at the relevant facilities. Open spaces will remain available for residents. Please practice social distancing of at least 6 feet or more apart, avoid large gatherings, wash your hands frequently, and stay informed by texting COVIDNOLA to 888777 to receive alerts or visit nola.ready.gov.

SUmmer Camp

At this time NORD is moving forward with plans to host some summer camps and making preparations to do that as safely as possible. This would include measures like social distancing and small group sizes. However, we do not have a confirmed date as to when camps will begin. We are awaiting specific guidelines from the Health Department, and the CDC as to how summer camps will take place in response to COVID-19, and the city’s reopening plans. We hope to have more information and clear guidance in the upcoming weeks.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.
