Welcome to PSPE Philadelphia Chapter
Pennsylvania Society Professional Engineers
Philadelphia Chapter is dedicated to serving all licensed professional engineers and
our promotion of the public health, safety, property and welfare.
We provide courses at our meetings and elsewhere to assist member and non-members to keep current in a variety of fields and meet requirements for
the mandated 24 PDH credits required by the State. We work to have our courses also accepted by other states including New York.
We assist professional engineers to network with others of their specialty and across specialties. We discuss and debate topics
of interest to engineers forwarding our unified or diverse findings to the State organization to share with our Legislators.
We are the leaders of several programs designed to encourage and prepare our youngest citizens to consider a career in engineering. We are a resource to assist young Engineers in
Training to apply for, study for, and become licensed Professional Engineers.
We are PSPE Philadelphia.
Come join us to further your profession and further your career.

Monthly Meetings, Tours and Courses
Standardization through ASTM April 4th 7pm by Zoom
Click for details
This is a Virtual Presentation LIVE by Zoom Presented by
Katerina Koperna, MSODL and Robert S. Cargill II, PhD, PE
A brief overview of ASTM International, headquartered right outside of Philadelphia in West Conshohocken, will be presented. The upcoming Spring Committee Week meetings in Philadelphia will be discussed. The various motivations behind the development of standards will be discussed with brief examples. An example of the process of forming a new standard in the F24 Committee on Amusement Rides and Attractions will demonstrate the process from a biomechanical perspective. The presentation will focus on how standards can assist designers and manufacturers in bringing their devices to an ever more international market. The process by which existing devices can develop biomechanical guidelines will be discussed with a case study.
The global consensus is geological disposal presents the best solution for safe, permanent disposition of spent nuclear fuel and high-level waste. With
traditional mined repository concepts being costly and complex, encompassing decades of engineering work, only a handful of countries are close to implantation.
So register below, sign in to our Zoom invite, and enjoy a sumptuous meal and potent beverages supplied by
YOUR KITCHEN AND BAR
PSPE Philadelphia believes this event will be accredited for 1.0 Professional Development Hour by the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers
and will be accepted for credit in PA, NJ and other National Model states where courses do not require pre-approval.

What's Happening Elsewhere?
The Engineers' Club of Philadelphia maintains an inter-society calendar of events. To see what is happening in your specialty field of engineering,
go to http://engrclub.org/events.
You may also enhance your breadth of professional skill by attending a meeting of a technical society outside your specialty. Try to do this once each
month - bring along extra business cards to share with new contacts.
Enjoy the camaraderie of fellow engineers.
