EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The Board is committed to establishing and maintaining policies, procedures, and operating guidelines that maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of all district divisions. Policy updates and revisions are presented at each monthly Board meeting in compliance with the Board’s requirement that all policies are reviewed on an ongoing basis.

 

This policy was first presented to the Board for review in December 2020, and it was determined that this policy needed review in the Standard Track.

 

The following changes have been made to this policy:

  • Added definitions for the different curriculum options in Reading/Language Arts and Math
  • Included that virtual students would be provided the same Continuous Achievement opportunities
  • Clarified when Kindergarten students are screened for acceleration
  • Added qualifying language to the number of groups teachers should teach at the same time to allow for flexibility if needed
  • Clarified annual reporting methods to the Board
