He was the leading scorer in the state of Iowa as a junior at 32.5 points per game and ranked fourth in the state in rebounding at 13.1 boards per game. He connected on 236 of 307 free throws on the season and his 236 makes were more than any other player in the state of Iowa attempted. He also averaged 2.1 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.0 blocks per game.
Reid scored 76 points with 14 rebounds in an 86-76 win over East Buchanan HS in 2018-19.  It ranks second all-time in the state of Iowa behind a player who scored 84 points in a game in 1921. He also had a 57 point game and a 40 point, 19 rebound game as a junior.  He holds the Tri Rivers Conference record for points in a season, best scoring average in a season, most free throws in a season, most points in a game, most field goals in a game and most free throws in a game. He was named first-team all-state as a junior and senior, and a three-time All-Tri Rivers Conference selection.
